We visited Causey Farm via Princess Cruises as a excursion. I did not want to tell my teens what they were in for as the discription was...sorry..."Cheesey"... cooking, dancing, farm animals. Well they LOVED it!!! I was an absolute hit! My daughter has Celiac so no wheat...they had wheat-free flour to make her soda bread! The dancing, playing the drum, learning games, the animals the new born pups and sheepdog (actually herding sheep) were so far from what we are use to in Los Angeles..it was awesome!!! Our tour guide was great sorry I forgot his name (giant guy) and the lunch was so tasty way more food than the discription of irish stew. We are still talking about how great this day was! A must do for anyone!!

Causey Farm is the best value day out for a family in Leinster! 50euro for a family of two adults and three children for four hours entertainment. The kids loved every minute of it, especially the bouran session and the bog jumping. They came out covered in bog dirt from head to toes but with the biggest smiles!! To finish off, delicious scones and tea!

We have done the Causey christmas experience as well and this is also not to be missed!

We had booked for a 4 hour visit to the farm with an under 14 Girls sports team as we were on an end of season tour to Ireland. The plan was to make the tour full of sport, education, Irish culture, fun and laughter.......well Causey Farm delivered on every count. Where to start :-)........okay at the beginning I guess. The Farm is located about an hour drives North of Dublin and the directions we had been given were perfect. The activities began (as the adults were served coffee and delicious scones and homemade jam) with an Irish Soda Bread baking lesson......the girls weren't sure what to expect but as soon the lesson started with egg catching the ice (and the odd egg) was well and truly broken and the laughter began. From there the girls were taken to a barn for a bit of Irish Dancing followed by being taught how to play an Irish tune on the bodhrán (Irish drum) from there the girls had a go at milking a cow. Then it was helmets on for a bit of Hurling (similar to Scottish Shinty) which was great fun. We then stopped to have our packed lunch sitting at picnic benches outside bathed in Irish sunshine :-).
After lunch we all climbed into the back of a tractor trailer and sitting on hay bales taken to a Peat Bog where the girls went Peat Bog Jumping. To say it was hilarious is an understatement and I literally had tears streaming down my face with laughter as the girls got in to the spirit of Peat Bog Jumping. After cleaning themselves up (which was another hilarious event) the girls enjoyed the Soda Bread that they had made along with butter and jam. By the time we left the Farm my sides ached with laughing and the girls were left with memories that will live with them forever.......a massive thanks to all at Cuasey Farm for helping create such a memorable day.
p.s. It was also brilliant value for money :-)
