Decided to have sunday lunch at The Bistro, Tankardstown. The first thing we noticed were the award citations on the walls for customer service and food quality. We had three observations vis-a-vis customer service:
a) A starter arrived without one of the main ingredients. No apology until I raised the issue with the waiter.
b) Had to ask for new cutlery and napkins when the main course arrived (the originals were used with the starters).
c) Had to ask for the bill twice after the first person we asked forgot about it.
Relatively minor complaints we know, but nevertheless three in one sitting, but if a restaurant draws attention to its 'award winning' customer service, then it really does need to live up to it.
As for food quality, in our opinion not more than average.
As an old school report may say - "needs to try harder".
