Visited here with a hen party and the food was good, the dishes were imaginative and different and of good quality. I found the booking to be a bit stressful as I had to change the numbers of the hen party twice and I felt I was putting the owners out but overall a nice experience and good value for money

Having been the lucky recipients of a gift voucher for a meal here, we duly wasted no time in booking a table. We visited on a Friday evening and were warmly greeted, then shown to our table. There was a good selection of starters and main courses - enough to please most palates - and a varied wine list which was reasonably priced (in a ROI context!).

The blue cheese/mushroom starter was potently flavoured and led nicely into the Cataplana main course (a sort of North African/Spanish bouillabaisse?!). My partner went for the lobster which was simply but beautifully cooked.

The service was friendly, neither too rushed nor too slow and, all-in-all, the dining experience was enjoyable. Chef Harry visited each table at the close of service and it was a pleasant way to end the evening. Overall, we would go back and have no hesitation in recommending The Oystercatcher as a good option in very competitive Carlingford.

Recently visited this quaint bistro with 7 friends and what a beutiful surprise.

The restaurant is cosey, well laid out with an extremely friendly atmosphere.

The staff are all very attentive and friendly and go the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful dining experience.

Now the best bit "The Food" We tried a selection of starters but the Carlingford Oysters were to die for, weither cooked or raw. For main courses the absolute favourate for the majority of our group was the Cataplana which has no less the 7 different types of seafood included (my husband still rants about it) I had the chicken which the only dissappointnet was realising i had ate it all!!!

Cannot wait to return in the near future.

This restaurant has my highest of recommendation.

A big thank you to Harry & Marian
