“Packed out on a Sat night”

Lovely old pub with a roaring fire. It was very busy and hard to get to the toilets. Good drinks and clean toilets

“Good food and service”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

The food was great, the service was good too and the prices weren't unreasonable. There was a group of drunk women who came into the bar at around 8 o'clock and we could hardly hear ourselves speak while we were having dinner as a result of the noise they were making. It would be better if there were a separate dining area, or if the staff would ask rowdy people to keep it down while people are having dinner.

Thank you very much for you great rating and review. We are delighted you enjoyed your meal and evening with us. Very sorry that your evening was upset by the women you described, normally our staff do their utmost to keep customer noise levels to an acceptable level however sometimes this is an impossible task. We shall endeavour in the future to solve this.It is very unfortunate that they adversely affected your enjoyment and I sincerely apologise for this.

“A Seafood treat”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Great atmosphere, Guinness and grub. We chose to eat here from a large selection of bars and restaurants in town and I think we made a good call. Service is very friendly but professional. We started with crab claws and oysters (tapas style) and they were delicious. Moving on, both the seafood pie and linguini were excellent. Importantly to my other half, all our cutlery and glasses were spotless.
