Located outside of Portumna in central Ireland, this cottage has much to offer. It's close to several historic sites-castles, monasteries, and still conveys a rural feel. Our host Lena was very helpful, and still manages a working farm! One highlight was the nearby Workhouse dating to the 1850's. The art exhibit was stunning and our tour guide, David, recounted the stories, hardships and genuine feel of life as it was then. We recommend it highly.
Shannon breeze was a terrific place to stay. Highly recommend it. Lena showed interest in where we went and what we did and had plenty of helpful information and tips. Would happily rent again.
We stayed here for a week, It is a small but confortable, very clean, traditional, homeful accomodation with a great and lovely host: Lena. The cottage is located in a peaceful and relaxing place.
First time in Ireland and not disappointed by the cottage, the people, the landscape!
The Shannon Breeze cottage is a work of art to discover the simple pleasure of a cozy and comfy home.
I hope to come back here in the same cottage!
The host is effective and pleasant, always asking if everything is good and asking how the day was! Not used to have this in France!
Stayed here for a week while visiting family near by.Lena is a lovely lady who will do anything to help.cottage was lovely clean and cosy in a quiet location.my children fed the lambs it was great.will definitely be returning to stay again.Thank you Lena.
Lena was not only very friendly and accommodating, but provided us with a unique Irish experience. Feeling the heat and taking the smell of the peat fire burning, as well as, learning that the cottage had been an old horse stable provided us with visions and thoughts about what life was like decades ago when the farm was in full operation. It is our hope that one day we might be able to return to Shannon Breeze and explore more of the local sights and eat in more of the local restaurants than we were able to on this trip.
