Had dinner here last week while visiting portumna for a night . Though the food is good I did think at €18 for main course ( small portions ) it is overpriced .

i loved this little restaurant...pleasantly surprised with the two menus...didn't think it would work but it did i ordered indian ...buttered chicken ..pilau rice...garlic naan ..great portions ...and for dessert i had rubarb creme brulee ..go figure but it was yum...my dining companion normally an indian food lover went mad and had a thai crispy chicken dish ..which was delightful ...perfect balance of taste...icecream for dessert ...a couple of cobras...the beers of course ...just under €54 ...satisfied ...and service with a smile ...superb

Their 10 oz steak was excellent and came with French fries, fried onions and mushrooms and....three mounds of mashed potatoes as well. The brown soda bread was a great add-on.

After reading some of the positive reviews about Modena I decided to try. Service was pleasant and it has nice comfortable surroundings. However I decided to order from their Indian menu so I cannot comment on their other cuisines that they offer. Portions were very small considering the prices, chicken Balti was far from authentic and consisted of a watery sauce lacking any real flavor. its tasted suspiciously very jar like. Unfortunately the Chana Bhuna was not far better, it tasted like its base was from a jar also with a bit of additional stock added in and consisted of overcooked chickpeas. I informed a very nice lady about this and she told me that their resident chef was on holidays.I was given a complementary bottle of Cobra beer which I felt was over priced anyway for a 300ml bottle. Maybe the chef that was working that evening could only cook Italian and Irish cuisine!! Definitely the Indian food is a very weak area. I would not return here again for their Indian food.
