We went to Empire for a work dinner. It was our first time there since its opening. I was very impressed with the decor, very tastefully decorated.

There was a reasonable wine list and a food menu to suit all budgets. The steak special was a great deal for 9.95. The steak was nice, cooked to
Order with nice sides. The rest of the menu was nice gastro bar type food. Really nice.

After dinner there were some cocktails on special-2for10 which were served in jam jars which was a nice touch. There was live music-unusually it was a 4some westlife tribute act singing to a backing track. Initially i didn't like taut soon discovered a guilty pleasure as i belted out flying without wings. Dj came on after them.
Fun night, good venue!
If your thinking of eating there make a reservation! Its busy!

We went to the new Empire Bar, Swords last night for a drink following a meal nearby. This was our first time to visit and I have to say we were very impressed. There appears to be 3 separate areas inside. Firstly a relaxing bar / lounge just inside the main entrance and then a divided bar / restaurant area further on in, although you can also sit in the eating area, as we did while just having a drink. We were greeted by the manager as we arrived at the back end and unsure as to whether we could sit in the eating area he was quick to assure us that it was ok. The floor staff were over almost immediately to serve us even though the place was very busy and she was very nice and quick to point out that there was a special on a range of cocktails until 10 pm when you get 2 for 10 euro. The 2 wives both went for this option and were pleasantly surprised with the cocktail that arrived both in alcohol content and quantity - they were served in what can only be described as 2 very large jam jars, very quirky indeed. Unfortunately the beer is a little pricey at 4.85 euro for Guinness and 5.15 euro for Bulmers, although in fairness the decor was lovely and the seating comfortable. Incidentily we were asked if we wanted to run a tab or pay as we ordered, very unusual in this day and age. The group sitting beside us were also eating and I have to say the food looked delicious, lovely big steaks with chunky chips French Fried Onions and a portion of sauce. I don't know what the price of food is but I will certainly give it a go soon. Having been greeted by the manager on arrival, he hovered around and made sure everybody was being looked after as did another member of staff whos only function appeared to be making sure everybody is being looked after properly. All in all well worth a visit for a very relaxing meal / drink.

We went here once for lunch and once for dinner. I had a chicken sandwich for lunch along with a bowl of minestrone soup and it was the best I have ever had. For dinner I had chicken wings (better than any wings I have ever had). Chicken with mushrooms and white sauce which was delicious and hot donuts with chocolate sauce, also delicious. We were able to stay on our table all night as there was a band and DJ playing and the bar was open till 3am. The place was packed and there was a great atmosphere. The staff were really nice and the service was great. Will definitely be back again.
