good parking, clean rooms, friendly staff. Hotel overlooks the harbour, has good parking, and could be used for business or as a base for local sightseeing. Bar food is excellent and very good value. Didn't try the leisure centre.

The Tara hotel is an excellent location for my requirements. For a small hotel it is well equipped with a gym, sauna and steam room (can't comment on these as I didn't use them). Surprisingly good choice on evening menu and staff extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are large, warm and very clean.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea are beautiful but a little noisy in Jan/Feb because of the constant hum of...

A warm welcoming hotel in a rural fishing village but with all the amenities of a city centre hotspot. The staff were helpful, great wifi and with sumptuous food in the bar it was only a pity I was there for work. I could not believe how reasonable it was to stay too. I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough for either business or a weekend break. You wont be disappointed as either way, it has it all.

Room Tip: It gives a choice of room with a sea view but it doesn't matter as the back of the hotel looks o...

Stayed two nights in the Tara in december and had a lovely stay, staff very friendly indeed, nothing was to much trouble for them, rooms very clean and warm ( very cold outside ) had drinks and food in the bar both nights and again pleasent staff and food great. I am Coeliac and had no problems getting anything to eat in the bar or at breakfast ( it was excellent ) I would certainly stay there again and recommend the hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: After all it is a working fishing port so you might as well look for a room at the front

Got an offer of B&B and also had dinner in the Bar.
Good Food and good service even with the flickering lights a comfortable night looking out at the port and all the trawlers preparing for sail.
The room was very comfortable and spotless, what more do you need.
I intend haveing another stay in Spring/eary summer but for longer this time

Room Tip: Rooms opposite the port can be a little noisey when the boats are ticking over all night. Seafood c...
