I selected Ardfield after reading "Ireland for Dummies" because it mentioned they had horses and it looked so charming on the internet. I can tell you, we were not disappointed! We were almost instantly greeted by "Billy", their pony. We arrived in the rain, but Bernadette greeted us without concern for our wet umbrellas or shoes. We felt like we had known her for sometime. We immediately felt "at home". We received a personal tour and escort to our room and felt like we could call on her at any time. Her directions and knowledge of the surrounding areas and activities were incredibly helpful and we actually changed our itinerary to include extra sites. The location is very central to many beautiful sights and felt that we were really seeing the Ireland that we had traveled so far to see. Bernadette, thanks for making us a part of your house and family. I still feel our goodbye hug and got misty when we left. I wish we had more time there!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed, The hostess was great and gave us excellent dining and travel recommendations. The Breakfast was great. My only minor complaint was the curtains did not keep out the light very well. The view was beautiful. Would stay here again!

This was a very pleasant stay, Bernadette is a nice lady and helped us with some information on sight seeing. The room was very nice and the breakfast was great. We were welcome to go visit the horses, which was awesome and the view was magnificent.

Bernadette was such a gracious host, and the property was lovely. I highly suggest this wonderful B&B if you want to stay in Cork. Her breakfast was fresh and delicious. It's 15 minutes from Cork City and 20 minutes from Kinsale. Only stay here if you're okay with driving - there isn't anything within walking distance. Other than that, I would highly recommend it!

Can't believe that I failed to review Ardfield on my first Irish Sojourn last summer! Absolutely lovely, welcoming, and a truly Irish Experience. Fabulous Food. Lovely accommodations, the kindest and most hospitable folks, and I'd wished I could stay longer. I'll be back for more of Bernadette's cooking and Eamon's and Eddie's horses. A dream of a B&B--great dinner house just back down the road, and the best, most congenial and knowledgeable taxi-man in Ireland who'll take you to Kinsale, Cobh, etc.! Bernadette will set you up with him:-) A must-stay and must-see if you love Irish hunters and Maeve Binchy (or not:-)).

Room Tip: Any room is a lovely room!

The hilltop view was amazing as well as the sunset and Billy the horse. The landlord was very friendly and accomodating. Easy access to local public transportation. Rooms were very cozy. The two sons made our stay more cozy by playing a friendly game of hurling outside our window. Just like home :)

Bernadette was not at home when we arrived, so we were met and well taken care of by their teenage son “Eamon” who gave us tea and home made scones. (Everything we ate at Ardfield was ‘homemade’....Bernadette is a wonderful cook.) Eamon is a great guy and educated us about his sport of hurling. We even stopped by his team’s practice that evening.
Ardfield is the perfect location for visiting Kinsale, Cobn, Cork, Blarney, etc. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and clean and the breakfasts were the best of our two week stay. The horses were fantastic and the dogs were so much fun. But the most memorable of all was Bernadette who was the nicest person and best hostess we encountered on our two week trip. Ardfield isn’t just a B&B....it’s an experience.
