Well if in Iceland you have no option but to visit the original Guyser. There are several hot springs with one spouting water every 10 minutes. Great for photos. Smaller then we thought but impressive.

A very worthwhile diversion out of Reykjavik. The geyser is a short hike from the main road. It is unfenced, and you can watch it from an extremely close vantage. Its heat, power and rhythmicity are quite impressive, and you can feel the ground tremble before its eruptions, which occure every few minutes but at imprecise intervals.

Visiting here is convenient as there is a nice visitor center with food and petrol just across the road from the park entrance.

Really fun to wait for the pressure in the geyser to build and then erupt. A must do when you are in Iceland!

We spent an hour here watching the amazing geysir and the heat activity around it! About every 5 min it erupts and it is worth the short waiting...
I still can't believe that the ground water acctually held about 100 degrees... I will definatley go back!

This was such an amazing experience it almost didn't sink in. A geyser erupts about every 5 mins or so, so plenty of opportunity to see. Also some if the craters are just beautiful and the whole site just unique.
