We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of the Hali Country Hotel when staying there.
Lots on the menu, reasonably priced relative to Icelandic standards, great tasting food!

This was a lovely place to eat in Selfoss right next door to Kronan supermarket. We ate here twice and both times the food was excellent. I had the lobster pizza, it was delicious and my husband had a pasta dish which was equally tasty. The prices weren't too bad for Iceland

Kaffi Krus is conveniently located to the side of Kronan, one of the grocery stores in Selfoss on the main street. It's a cute multi-leveled old house with pizza pick-up on the lower level, the cafe on the main and additional seating and restrooms upstairs. We arrived around 12 and sat upstairs.

As many people have mentioned, food in Iceland is very expensive so be prepared to spend around $20 US per person. We ordered the California Club and the Selfoss Burger. They both arrived with fries. The bread was out of this world on the Club! Hints of rosemary and garlic went perfectly with the tender chicken, crispy strip of bacon and fresh lettuce, tomato and purple onions. So good! Probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. My husband raved about the burger and the grind of the meat. I guess he knows his beef since we're from Texas, haha.

The cafe was very cozy, the restrooms were clean and the staff were very kind.

A side note - after we were done eating, we waited a few minutes thinking the server might bring us the check. We ended up walking downstairs to the register to pay.

We visited the Kaffi Krus twice. One time for dinner (we had some great pizza's) and one time for lunch (a tastefull bagel with salmon.) Both times were very nice. In my opinion though the Kaffi Krus is more a like a very nice cafetaria then a restaurant. I should recommend it for a lunch.
