“Beautiful log cabin. Perfect location. Would highly recommend.”

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Iceland. Cedar log cabin was the perfect place to setup base camp. The cabin is beautiful, spacious and has all the necessary amenities. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day of sight seeing and walking. The location was excellent - far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to the local town. Northern lights overhead were fantastic.

The owners were very friendly and helpful.

We would definitely recommend.

“A perfect holiday!”

Great location for visiting all the attractions in the South, the Golden Circle and Reykjavik. The cabin is warm and cosy, with everything you could wish for in a holiday rental, super comfy beds, a good shower, and a really well equipped kitchen. It was perfect for our family of five, peaceful and quiet, and spacious enough for us all. The only slight inconvenience was the strength of wi-fi signal, which whilst being able to accommodate multiple iPods and iPads, was limited to the living room due to the location of the router (in the guest-house).
The views are superb and the cabin is conveniently situated for shopping in Selfoss. The owners are friendly and helpful, and seem to have considered every requirement for a successful holiday. We would totally recommend this cabin for a holiday in this area!

“A fantastic cabin with a lot of thought on the small details”

We had a fantastic stay in this cabin in March 2014. Weather was not kind with a serious snowfall on arrival. The final few hundred metres to this log cabin can be difficult to get to in the snow so consider a 4x4 if travelling off-season.

The cabin is positioned on the side of a hill, hidden from many of the surrounding homes and with beautiful views north and west. A lot of thought has gone into the setup (e.g. a booklet of helpful notes, maps of surrounding amenities, labels on important plugs etc.). For those easily bored (not an issue for us given how close we were to the golden circle and southern road attractions), there are board games, dvds, kids toys etc. available around the cabin.

Cabin was exactly as described, with a very nice guest house, good barbeque and awesome hot tub. Nothing quite like hot tubbing in the snow!

The Northern Lights Inn were very helpful in assisting us on our way to/from the cabin, and Robert provided an excellent service, including helping us decide on and finalise our stay. He also provided us with a huge volume of information on the cabin and surrounding areas which we used extensively in planning our various excursions.

We were very pleased indeed with our stay in the cabin. In an expensive country, it stuck out for us all as being truly fantastic value for money. I would strongly recommend this location for small or medium groups, and hope to return to it myself in the near future with another group.

Liked best: The location and value for money
Liked least: Last few hundred yards to the cabin were a bit tricky, solely due to the unseasonal snowfall we experienced.

“Warm and comfortable, excellent house for adults and children.”

Our trip to Iceland was exceptionally good and one of the things that made it so good was our house. It was great to come back to it every day after our excursions and relax in the hot tub and feel warm and cosy. This house has all the facilities you will need and wifi connection is very reliable. Additionally, there is a second log cabin on the premises with its own en suite bathroom, just what you need when you're travelling with family and friends or extended family.

“Perfect Cabin in a Brilliant Location”

The reviews for this cabin really do reflect how lovely it is. Really good location away from the busy city and perfect for visiting the Golden Circle sights. Cabin was really warm and hot tub was lovely. Received a very comprehensive information pack after we booked about the cabin itself and local restaurants/places to visit. Robert (owner) is probably the most helpful person ever! He came straight over one Friday afternoon to check a small fault with the shower even though we told him we could wait until after the weekend as it was still usable. He then drove into Selfoss (even though he wasn't going that way) to show us the best supermarket and bought us both a yogurt! He also called us one afternoon to let us know there was a very high Northern Lights forecast and that night we saw them (unfortunately it was a little bit cloudy so they weren't as good as they can be). If we went back to Iceland we would definitely stay here again. Thanks Robert!
