My friend and I came to this restaurant because it was the only one that is open in October around Laugarvatn. We were pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere of the restaurant and the food.
The place is a bit hard to find, even though we were given a map but it was also dark outside. It is off the road and up an one line mud road to the farm house. When we arrived, there were only one other table in the restaurant. I don't think they were expecting anyone else that night. The restaurant is spacious, well decorated, and most of all, there is a glass window allow you see the cowshed the floor below.
My friend had the special of the day and I had the trout. We both loved our food. Afterwards, we talked to the owner of the restaurant and he said everything he serves came from the farm. The homemade ice cream was delicious.
When we left the restaurant the Northern light came out and the farm was the perfect spot to watch them.
