Fairly large facility on a horse and sheep farm with beautiful view setting.
Small reception area off the restaurant with pleasant German receptionist.
Reception/restaurant is separate from the main building with the rooms and a few free-standing cottages, facilities are obviously fairly new and spotlessly clean.
Laminated wood flooring in very small single bedroom with a tiny table and coffee/tea making facilities. Good vinyl floor in ok sized bathroom with small but reasonable counter and shelf space, very good quality faucets, reasonable sized shower leaking to floor. Good lighting, hair dryer, wifi in room but scant electrical outlets.
Breakfast includes the normal cold meats and cheese, only one kind of bread but also toast, hard boiled egg, cereal, juices, etc. good but not fantastic. The farm also has a good sized restaurant with ample a la carte menu, I enjoyed a very good double smoked lamb on green salad for appetizer, but the salted fish main course was way too salty, and the food prices including the wine were at the upper edge of reasonability.

We are on a one month Iceland tour, having been here two years ago for two weeks. All our arrangements were made by Nordic Visitor as part of a self drive tour, so, we don't know the specific prices for accommodation. Nordic Visitor, in their tour packages offer three types of accommodation and we booked comfort accommodation (private bathroom, "nice" hotels & guesthouses), breakfast is always included. This will be one of many reviews for this trip.

This is like many guesthouses/hotels in Iceland. Location is beautiful, it's quiet in late September. Breakfast was very nice and typical of the breakfasts is Iceland, nothing special. The room was a generous size and we had a mountain view (alternative is parking lot) which was perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view room.

We were 8 persons got 4 double rooms. Stayed there 2 nights. Great location for exploring Laki , Skaftafell and start point for F208 road to Langmannalauger.
The rooms were OK very close to parking. The only complain we had was that the hot water in shower finished very fast.
We had great breakfasts and one dinner. The dinner was OK. The next day we enjoyed dinner in town.

One of the places we stayed for one night while doing the Ring Road Drive. Room was fairly basic, but very clean. Location was beautiful and I enjoyed walking around after dinner and looking at all the animals. My family had dinner at the restaurant and the food was excellent. I later learned that the owner is one of the most famous female chef's in Iceland. Food was certainly good and for Iceland which has expensive food, fairly reasonable. My only complaint is that wifi was only available in the main house/restaurant.

This hotel is very minimal and set in a beautiful location. After hiking all day and checking in after 6PM we didn't care what the hotel looked like as long as it had a clean room and Hotel Geirland fit the bill. There were no bath products so don't forget to bring your own shampoo! The rooms do have free wi-fi.

We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and its a nice sit down low key joint. The food was simple and delicious and our fish dish was perfectly cooked. The meal was expensive, but all food in Iceland is pricey. The restaurant staff was very nice. The same restaurant also service a breakfast buffet. The buffet had a small selection, but it did the job.

Hotel Geirland is situated near Kirkjubaejarklaustur so it is easy if you want to go to the Vatnajökull (+/- 1 hour by car) and the Jökullsarlon (+/- 2 hours by car).
The rooms are big and well equiped. It is VERY calm !!! No neighbour, the city is at 5 - 8 km... only the farm and the sheeps.
Be cautious on the road to Geirland : it is well indicated on the main road but the state of the road is quite bad.
The staff is kind and helpfull. The price is honest and the restaurant is good (based on the products of the farm).

We went there for lunch and the chef mentioned that they only run a dinner service. He was kind enough to fire up the grill and served us lamb burgers on the waiter's recommendation for lunch. The burgers were tasty and so was the coffee.
