This was the first stop on our road trip around Iceland. Simple, clean hotel, well located and easy to find. Hotel had a pool with water slides and 2 hot tubs. It was very cold and rainy when we arrived, so we didn't get to spend too much time there, but we saw kids having fun in the pool despite the foul weather. Our rate included breakfast and it was typical European fare-cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, porridge. Bread was outstanding- as it was everywhere in Iceland. We went to see Geothermal park-- which was 3 minutes walk from the hotel and took about 5 minutes to go through.
The absolute highlight of our stay was the hike we took early next morning. It took us though geothermal valley to "hot river", where we all relaxed submerged in warm river in the middle of the stunning valley, while it was 49F outside. Beware- hike was about an hour and some of it was a little steep, but it was well worthy it!!
For dinner, we ventured out of the hotel and went to Kjot and Kunst and it was an expensive and mediocre meal in very outdated looking restaurant, so I would definitely look elsewhere.
