So I came here with my school and the conditions here are appalling, the staff are rude and scarcely available, and the food is sub par at best.
As we arrived at the front we were greeted with a very fancy lobby where the only option to enter was the revolving door which 23 of us had to use at once which as you can imagine went well. Immediately after we passed the main lobby we were met with outdated and worn carpets that gave the feel of a 70s B&B. We barely used the lift but it was straight out of a horror film.
When we got to our room we had to use a punchcard type system which shows how outdated the hotel was and as we entered a 17 year old & two 18 year old lads sharing one twin room. There was barely a gap between my bed and my roommates and I was practically on top of the window.
The bathroom was disgusting the shower curtains were obviously ancient and the bathtub was broken and worn, the toilet leaked at least once everyday and when we complained to reception they told us they were already aware but still hadn't fixed it. I felt more dirty after showering than I did going in.
The food wasn't horrible and it wasn't amazing it was best described as 'meh' the breakfast was basic, porridge, cereal, toast and sandwiches although I made the mistake of having a caramel type yoghurty milk which was absolutely revolting. Each night for dinner we had a different thing none of which was Icelandic and whilst it was mildly tasty, the portion sizes were pitiful and left you still hungry at the end.
I'd say the saving grace was the recreation room where there was a table tennis table and a pool table as well as lots of chairs and tables. These managed to keep us entertained during the trip however even these where worn out and old.
Overall I would not recommend coming to this hotel and I am never planning to return again.
