I stayed at their cottages with three other friends and we had a great time. It is out there in the country side, so if you're looking for a quiet place it's ideal. The cottage was not big but cosy, all in wood, 2 bedrooms with two beds each, an equipped kitchen where we cooked. Best feature was the hot tub with hot water from the source below, great to soak in the sulfur water. It's not far to the next town, Hveragerdi, where we did shop for groceries and all, and 45 min friom Raykjavik. Well placed to go on the classic tour of the Golden Cirlce. We had a great time there and would definately go again.

While visiting Iceland with my family, we stayed one week at Núpar. We rented two big cottages for 7 adults but the cottages are way to small and one couple had to go to a nearby hotel.

The cottages are not to big, there is one bed room with a double bed and another with bunk beds. Both rooms are small, and there is not really room for anything else than the bed itself. The cottage could fit two adults and two kids, but to my opinion it is to small for four adults.

The cottage has nice equipment, a small but functional bathroom and kitchen with refrigerator, a little oven and two hobs. There is a TV with VHS and one TV-channel. The outside hot tub was very nice and we used it a lot. There is a gas grill, but we didn't use it.

Note that the houses are located east of a big rim facing east, and that you will only have morning sun. Already around noon there is no sun caused by the shadows from the rim.

The houses has a great location, it takes 40 minutes in to Reykjavik and it is close enough to reach most of the attractions in the south west (the golden circle, Thorsmörk etc.). It is 1 km. outside Hveragerdi where you will find a super market, gas stations, a bakery etc. There is also a nice restaurant in the north of the town (when traveling from the summerhouse by road 38, continue north through the town after the roundabout. The restaurant is on your left at the north end of the road.

If you stay here, try to take the south road in to Reykjavik. The GPS will probarbly direct you to route 1 to the north, but you can also go by the south road (route 39). It takes a few minutes longer, but the drive is much more scenic. When leaving Nupar, turn right instead of left on road 38. When 38 ends, turn right onto 39 (sign to Reykjavik) and follow the road, it ends up on route 1. When coming from Reykjavik, simply take the exit on route 1 to route 39 and turn left on route 38 after 15 (?) km.

All in all a very nice place to stay, but be aware not to bunch up to many people in one cabin.

I stayed at this cottage and have nothing bad to say about it. It was conveniently located just about 2 minutes from Hveragerdi. It was a nice quiet location with a nice view of the plains. The cottage had a double bed, a shower, a kitchen, a living room with a tv and its own hot tub. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for a great and central place to stay in Iceland.
