“Lunch in the sun”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

Very nice restaurant in east Iceland. Was there in middle of the day, over 20 degrees and the sun was shining. We had excellent cod that was just cooked perfectly for a very good price. I highly recommend this place if you are traveling in east Iceland.

“Nice atmosphere in the serenice east of Iceland”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

We had a romantic dinner early September in this restaurant. The atmosphere inside is warm, and almost like a typical French restaurant. Their menu has wide variety, and they have a good wine-list. Yes it is pricey, but then, between Egilsstadir and either Akureyri or Reykjavik, there isn't much luxury eating out there, so we decided to splurge for one night. We choose reindeer with blueberries, which was delicious.

[--] DELICIOUS. There's something for everyone on this menu... you can get the best ham/cheese sandwich of your life for the equivalent of $3 or you can get the lamb for the equivalent of $40.

“Don't leave without having tasted the chocolate cake with ice dessert”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

The best restaurant I have visited in Iceland so far (especially in this corner of Iceland it is hard to find good food). We had lobster soup and salmon with tiger shrimps, the kids fried codfish and chicken nuggets, all tasty and attentively served.

But the best came last: the chocolate cake with ice that our daughter had ordered (and we all tasted). The name does not serve the course. This is a warm muffin cake with chocolate that explodes in your mouth. The ice finely balances the structure and temperature of the cake. Our creme brulee was fine, but the chocolate cake topped it easily. So leave some room for this dessert.
