Walking around is like visiting what we image the moon or another plant is like. Steam rising from cracks in the ground. Sulphur smelling water seeping out of the ground. Mud. The mud cakes on your boots and you feel like you are walking with weighs on your feet. Great views of geothermal plants.

When one walks over these lava fields you feel you are in another world, have you arrived on the moon. It is humbling to see what is left behind after nature has taken over for a while, and how life will reappear little by little, making these amazing places to visit.

Wonderful landscape which looks like something out of a science fiction movie.

Could benefit from more information boards and very easy to get lost in the maze

Always good to visit the different lava fields, some are bare, others have moss growing on the lava rocks.

The Krafla Lava Fields offer a beautiful walk in an unusual and yet fascinating area. Fumes can be seen coming out of the cracks every few meters allowing the visitor to visualize what actually happened there. From different view points, you can also see the extent of the lava fields. It just goes on and on. It's impressive.
