This was a charming hotel. Yannis and his wife are wonderful people who are extremely hospitable. The hotel is cozy and secluded enough that you can sit back and enjoy the terrific view from the newly expanded front porch. The nearby town is charming and I had one of my best meals in Greece at a restaurant one minute from the hotel.

The beds were very comfortable and conveniently located by Meteora. Loved the kitchen and the atmosphere!

This was my first stop in Greece, and it definitely set the bar high for the rest of my trip! The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. By far the best part of this hotel were the views! Sitting outside on the terrace was stunning. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kalambaka.

We went there with high expectations and it did not dissappoint. It was a great time. It has a fantastic view and is very clean. It is very cheap and offers free breakfast and offers a place to do laundry as well. It was one of the best trips I have ever been on.

Hotel is located at the end of the town, just in the begging spot for the route to Meteora rocks and monasteries, and about 5-7 minutes to the main streets and squares in Kalmabaka.
Staff - friendly and helpful. had maps of the routes and gave helpful adivices and food recommendations.
Free parking.
Room - Clean, heated, with a small balcony just a side the rocks of Meteora; large TV.
Refrigerator in the hall (for all rooms), and free kitchen 24 hours for hot drinks etc.
Breakfast was OK - bread, eggs, cheast and pastries.
Definitely a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Meteora view, verify heating because nights are cold (October)

You can't stay any closer to Meteora than Alsos House! Literally at the foot of the trail up to the monasteries. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there is a lounge and free WiFi. Breakfast is nothing special, but overall this place is terrific value for money and having breakfast outside watching the sun rise behind Meteora isn't something I'll soon forget.

The owner of the hotel picked up the bags of me and my 5 friends from the tourist info just so we didnt have to walk up the hill with them (we have been interrailing through Europe and were travelling across Greece to see the Meteora monasteries.
We actually ended up staying in the adjacent appartments of Guesthouse Elena, Elena is the sister of Alsos House's owner but the two properties seem similarly really great places. The house is right at the bottom of the path up the hills to the moasteries which is a great short trek. The rooms were fantastic value considering we had paid more for far less desirable accommodation elsewhere on our travels up to this point. Even though we decided not to opt for the breakfast which was still only €4, Elena still left out coffee and some Greek breakfast cakes on both the mornings that we were there.

Definitely would recommend for anyone planning to stay in Kalambaka whether on a budget or not!
