Cost €40 for room, no breakfast. Reasonable price.
Basic but very clean and good sized rooms. Tiled floors. Basic toiletries but no hairdryer in bathroom. Think you can request one but I didn't need to use.
Air con worked well.
Free WiFi worked fine.
Right in middle of Kastraki town in great location. Walking distance to all good restaurants and to paths that lead you up to monasteries.
We had two rooms on 1st floor; ours was first door on left, friends was first door on right. A communal kitchen was just behind theirs, across from ours. We met some other Aussies who were in room behind ours (so second door on left after coming from stairs). All had balconies with views of Meteora rocks.
The Aussies we met had added several days to their stay as they loved it so much. They said the food at the restaurant downstairs was really good. We only had two nights and both we ate elsewhere but not for any reason against the guesthouse (more because we were out and about and weren't there at meal times).
The lady who runs this guesthouse is very helpful. There are also big signs just a few metres up from the guesthouse at the main square corner that show you where all the monasteries, eateries, etc are. Great idea Kastraki town! There is a small supermarket type shop just up around the corner and all the highest rated restaurants on trip advisor are within spitting distance.
We had a rental car and were able to park for free directly in front of the guesthouse. All very easy and laid back here.
We would stay here again if back at Meteora (which we'd hope to be one day as it is FABULOUS; a stunning area that deserves a lot more time than we were able to give it with only having one afternoon and one day - but we made the absolute most of the time we had). Kastraki is a lovely little village to amble around and we are pleased we picked it over the larger and more commercial Kalambaka (although we did have wander here as well and it is a nice enough place too).
