“Best home cooking in Kalavrita!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

A taverna that just feels like home.
Small, cosy and unpretentious with delicious meals and great atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much, we wanted to take it back to Kefalonia with us!

“I know Greece and this is the best”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

This is the best traditional Greek cooking I have had anywhere in Greece.
Special mention for the goat soup made with village fare. My wife had veal soup and as a main I had chicken breast in mustard and bacon. Even the xorta (dandelion greens ) tasted different (better).
The waiter was SO apologetic that the rooster was commercial, that I am certain that every thing else came from a farm close by.
I have lived in Greece for 5 years now and have travelled the world as a commercial pilot for 22, I have seen many restaurants, and this was one of the best tasting, best value, and cosiest meals I have ever had.
Unfortunately, as in most places here, people smoke at the table, but the place is well ventilated so not too much of a problem.

“Excellent local flavours and exceptional hospitality”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Food:
The menu contains some traditional greek delicacies that you will struggle to find in other restaurants or tavernas. Local produce, fresh vegetables and meat. We probably ordered too much but we ate every last bit of our food.
Hygiene and looks:
The place is run by a local family - looks and feels very clean. Decor is good albeit a bit modernised and maybe slightly dated.
Family friendly:
Both owners and staff were tremendously helpful in us managing the double-decker buggy! We have two little girls under the age of two and we were made to feel most welcome.
