A beautiful hotel, impeccably run. We only had one night, en route to Austria via the Fernpass. Our family room for four was very spacious, stylish and white, with a gorgeous bathroom and comfortable beds. We arrived late so had cheeses and desserts rather than dinner, but these were great, as was the buffet breakfast.
It's not too far from A7 for a stopover, 15 min drive, but would be worth a longer visit.

After a fantastic holiday in Austria and Italy(August/September 2012) we headed back to Memmingen airport needing one more nights accommodation. Whilst enjoying my last coffee on Lake Como we called the hotel to book after reading many good reviews on TA, plus a hotel that has its own brewery will alway get my vote, especially in Germany!

After a long and scary drive(Splugen pass never again!) we arrived a very wet Ottobueren, which was a shame as I would of liked to seen the lovely square on a nice summers night, not to be(this time). Walking into the hotel(past the the visible brewery) I knew we had made the right choice.

We had booked a family room for 4 adults and a baby(end of holiday cost exercise), although a lovely big room it was a little to cramp, especially with the in laws bed so close......After a breif explanation to front desk we had two lovely doubles in no time, for not that much extra, great service!

As it had been a long drive from Italy I was excited to sample a few home brews........ I must say the pilsner is one of the best I have ever had, me and my father in law still talk about it, so light and heavenly! Throughout the course of the night I sampled a few more variations which where also quality!

We decided to have our final holiday meal in the restaurant having read great reviews and been seduced by the smells from the kitchen. This was no problem and we where sat in a lovely restaurant with an extra nice place for our daughter Emily, with a few toys to keep her happy!

The menu looked excellent, and we decided to just go for mains, and maybe a dessert! The meal we had which varied from steak to schnitzel to pork was fantastic and the MEAL of the holiday by far,the service was brilliant by a very querky waiter(forgot his name/who didn't like football or B Munich ha!) Remember asking for a warm bottle of milk for Emily which came back in its own bath tub and rubber duck, great touch! The girls had a beautiful pineapple desert me and my father law had another beautiful beer each.

As the flight was very early the next morning we where up early and where first in for breakfast, what a feast! Unfortunatly to early for me to enjoy it as much as I would of liked! My mother in law didn't have the same problem! A smooth check out and we left, Unfortunatly the rain hadn't and yet again the square was grey and barren.

Will definatly return here(for longer next time!) for the quality of the hotel, hospitality, amazing food and the beer(wow). Plus I would love to visit the beautiful basilica and sit in the square(stay in England rain!)

This hotel fully lived up to all the previous excellent reviews. Comfortable and clean rooms, terrific breakfasts, brilliant food and drink (especially in the stube), really friendly and helpful staff, and a great location, with ample secure parking, right in the centre of the town. The fact that it is in the same building as a micro-brewery merely adds to the attraction.

My husband, our one year old daughter, and I booked this hotel simply because it was halfway to our destination on our road trip. When we arrived at this beautiful place, we were very pleasantly surprised. The building is beautiful, the room was absolutely huge and very clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was delicious. We did not order a meal specifically for our daughter, thinking she would share our meals, but our waitress brought our daughter her own plate of chicken and spaetzle, which she loved! The people in the room next to ours were extremely loud, which was annoying, but not horrible.

The best part of our stay was the breakfast! We were so incredibly happy to see that they had delicious, American-style bacon on the breakfast buffet. We are Americans living in Switzerland and this was like a gift from the heavens to us! LOL!

After enjoying that delicious breakfast, we headed out to explore the town and we were sad that we didn't have more time to spend there because it was such a picturesque and welcoming little town.

We are still looking for a reason to return to this fabulous hotel.

Modern, newly refurbished in the main square of a delightful village.Handy for getting to Ryanair's Memmingen airport.

Peaceful, quiet location in a village with plenty of restaurants to choose from and the breathtaking abbey to explore.

The hotel restaurant is,however, excellent and very reasonably priced for the quality of food, surroundings and service.

The family room on the top floor was spotlessly clean and plenty large enough with a very impressive safe (free), but no fridge/mini bar.It had a double bed for the adults and fold-out for 2 children.

The bowling alley in the basement was good fun (€8/hr).

Would definitely stay again.
