“A "must see"”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

"Never Again" is the repeated theme through this historic camp. It is unadorned and, for the most part, unexplained - but it is almost as if you can see and feel what occurred in this cold place if you have the historical knowledge to do so.
The whole place is very quiet, as would be expected. My teenage children and I consider it an important part of our trip to Germany - but not an easy one. It is not to be missed.
We love history so stayed for more than three hours but others might make it through in a shorter period of time.

“Historic but imagination required”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

The entrance gate is the most recognisable element remaining. The bunker is still standing and they've also refitted a barrack room to help visitors understand what the accommodation quarters were like. Although there were plenty of stories on display, it's a relatively detached monument to the atrocities of war. You know it was bad but it lacks the sentiment

“an unforgettable experience”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

I was 20years old and it was the summer of 1970,I never felt so cold as I did when I walked through the gates of this place.A totally moving visit,I still shudder at the thought of what happened to the people imprisoned there, and shall never forget. There was no way I even considered taking photographs as the images were firmly implanted in my mind and I was glad to be free to walk out of the gates to continue my journey.

“Marcin tour guide from New Europe”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

The man knows what he is talking about and has many stories from his extensive reading on what happened in Dachau and throughout history regarding genocides and concentration camps. It is indeed a dark place to visit but it is worth knowing humans' dark history and it is easier to swallow when you have a good guide.

“History to be seen and experienced”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

The reigning theme here was "never again." Hearing about concentration camps and reading about it in school or watching movies on the subject can not substitute for the experience of walking though the camp. It is a part of our collective history and a must see so the in fact we can say with conviction, "NEVER AGAIN!"
