We visited on the last night of a family holiday with 3 very young children. The restaurant were accommodating and friendly to us all. We pre-booked as we wanted to sit outside on the pretty terrace.
The menu and food is rustically simple yet sophisticated which is exactly what you want from a classic village bistro. They cook what they have and what they know very well.
The host was warm and friendly and speaks very good English.
If you want classic French food in a picturesque and quaint setting then go here!

I asked the owner, who was setting up for lunch service, if there was a table available for lunch, and his response was not just rude but hostile. Disappointing, to say the least, since the reviews for meals have been so positive.

We were a bit late arriving for lunch at this delightful little tuckaway of a restaurant and lucky that the owner was able to displace a slumbering cat from the last available table on our behalf. The place was lively with French chatter between the tables, more like a house party than a restaurant, and Monsieur was charming as we chose from the blackboard menu. The vegetarian platter was generous and delicious but light enough to leave room for the lavender crème brûlée. Oh my. Words don’t often fail me but I have eaten so many poor versions of this classic dish, made with flour or gélatine or (horror of horrors) from a packet that getting something so completely deliciously authentic is a real and rare treat.
Madame does the cooking and is to be heartily congratulated on all counts. I wish France had more restaurants like this!

Michel the owner is also the server and his wife is the chef - I had great veal stuffed with ham and pistachios, and my wife had homemade ravioli. The killer dessert was a home made lavender cream brûlée...to die for.

Will definitely go back, but make a reservation , only 5 tables.
