“Great Experience”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

My husband and I arrived at the 1886 Crescent Hotel on December 15-17 and enjoyed our stay and time. Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted and checked in very quickly. To our surprise, we were given an upgraded room, which turned out to be one of the honeymoon suites. We were so grateful and surprised! We were taken to our room and the individual who helped us there was so kind and helpful. Our room was stunning! Huge, clean, and comfortable! There was a beautiful large Jacuzzi tub and a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, king size bed, nice bathroom, and living area. We loved the room and immediately felt relaxed. The hotel itself was beautiful and had so much character and charm! It was kept up very well and the staff always took great care of it. We originally had reservations for the steakhouse located on the top floor, but it was canceled due to their annual Employee Christmas party. We completely understood, but were given a credit for a local restaurant to go and enjoy on them (the Crescent) since we had our reservations canceled. That was very generous and we ended up going to Ermilio’s that was literally within walking distance from the hotel. Great service and food there! Highly recommend it! We wanted to learn more on the history of the hotel during our stay, so we were recommended to take the Ghost tour in the evening, which gave a tour and background of the hotel itself. I believe our guides name was Mr. Ramsey, and he was FANTASTIC! What a kind man, and extremely knowledgeable in the roots of the Crescent as well as Eureka Springs. We dined at the Crystal ballroom for breakfast each day and were very impressed by the selection and service. They had everything from eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagels, fruit, potatoes, muffins, cereal, and more. They even had a very nice gentleman making made to order omelets and eggs. My husband and I each had a massage at the New Moon Spa, and I also booked the sauna service for my husband. He loved the sauna experience! Each of our massages were incredible! My massage therapist, Amy, worked exactly what I asked and was one of the best, most knowledgeable therapists I have ever had! If I lived closer, I would be a regular of hers! My husband had Sallye and he said she was amazing and worked all the areas he needed and he felt like a million bucks after…actually both of us felt great for the days following! The service from the front desk staff of the spa was very helpful and kind. Thank you New Moon Spa! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning someday. We loved seeing the Crescent house cats! They were so sweet and made it very welcoming and warm.

This is our fourth trip to eureka springs in the 10 ten years so we obviously like it. There is always something new going on. We have stated at other hotels in eureka but decided to stay at the crescent this time. It was actually a pleasant surprise. The rooms are quaint and very comfortable. We felt right at home. We used the spa services one afternoon and it was above average bit not great. It was a great stay and we would recommend to any of our friends.

We are from heber springs, ar. Me and my two best friends came to stay two nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. The Staff was very attentive and friendly. And to add to the great experience, we took the ghost tour with Mr. Ramsey. He is by far the best tour guide ever.

Room Tip: Any of the haunted rooms if your in to that. Ask the guest relations!

This hotel claims to be haunted. I doubt that, but it sure is creepy. Be careful of what you read and see on the website. They claim to have fabulous views, but that's only from a veranda on the fourth floor. The windows haven't been washed in years so forget the view from your window. We booked two rooms on the top floor. They were on opposite ends of the building. When our water pressure was dreadful, we called our friends to warm them. One of them was able to shower and then the water pressure dropped on the second one. The water is hot, but you won't fog a mirror because the pressure is so low and it will take twice as long as normal. The curtains and blinds haven't been cleaned in years. Our bathtub was sorely chipped and needed to be reglazed. We added the breakfast buffet to our room and it was hot, but had little variety. The place is very worn. The lady who owns it lives in the penthouse on the fifth floor. She needs to stay in a different room every night and see how run down this place is. One good comment, the mattresses and linens appear to be new and were very comfortable, but I would look elsewhere. This place has rested on its laurels and they want you to pay up?

Room Tip: I can't begin to think of them having a good room. My tip would be to stay elsewhere.

Thank you for your Very Candid comments about your stay at the Crescent Hotel. We are listed on americasmosthauntedhotel.com as one of the top 10 most haunted hotels in america, please check out the website for more information and pictures. We offer beautiful and amazing views of the mountains and Eureka Springs from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor balcony's. Window's are washed monthly, however in the month of November which was during your stay, because of unpredictable weather conditions, cleaning had been put off for another time. Keep in mind during the "off" season or slower winter months all rooms are deep cleaned and updated for the upcoming season. New bedding, new drapes, new flat screen T.V's in all guests rooms as well as new paint and updates to the hallways.
The 1886 Crescent is 128 years old this year and not everyone that stays in Eureka Springs wants to stay at a Historic Property , however we are very proud to keep the History of the Crescent alive for future guests to enjoy. Please next time your in town, stop by and see the improvements that have been made. Thank you again.

TLoosee Frequent Guests At The Crescent. Usually Stay In An Annex Room That We Love. This Stay We Had A Premium Balcony Room On The Corner Overlooking The Church,Great Room With A More Spacious Bathroom Than The Annex. Enjoyed The Balcony But It Was Very Windy So We Didn't Stay Out Long. We Had One Problem Sleeping Due To The Wind As There Was A Loose Light Cable That Banged Against The Window Air Conditioner Most Of The Night And It Was Very Loud. Despite That The Room Was Lovely And It IsNow My Favorite Room.

This is an interesting hotel. Getting to the hotel was interesting...even our Garmin was confused! The reception staff was very pleasant and our room was nice. The bathroom was a bit small but this is a very old hotel so we were not surprised. We stayed on the 4th floor next to a haunted room. The room had tall ceilings and a king-size bed. We also had a balcony which was nice to sit outside and see the sun set into the fall colors. The public areas of the hotel could use some updating. Breakfast was included in the price of our room and was very good. The biscuits in particular were delicious and the coffee was excellent.
