Piedmont House Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #18 of 68 Eureka Springs B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 8, 2008

My wife and I decided to get away for the weekend. We started researching all of the B&B's in Eureka Springs. We stumbled across the Piedmont House. The thing that caught our eye was the prices and the location. We made sure to check tripadvisor first to read reviews and maybe see some pictures. There weren't many pics, however the reviews were excellent, so we decided this was the place.
Sure enough it was a great place to stay. We loved everything about it. We stayed in the room with a view, but we were able to see the other rooms first. The bed was amazing. The staff was friendly. She was very informative about things to do while we were in town.
After a hot day on the town, it was nice to come back and enjoy a carafe filled with iced raspberry tea. There were also snacks available if you get a sweet tooth. The breakfast in the morning was great. Our anniversary is coming up in October and we will definitely be back.

I am having breakfast at the Piedmont as I write this on my laptop using their complimentary wireless internet service. It is truely a remarkable breakfast with everything you would expect at a B&B chilled juices yougurt shooter homemade cinnamon apple pastry topped off with a wild salmon crusted quiche.
The room is straight from the Victorian 1800's with the exception of a television modern day coffe pot, frig and best of all a jacuzzi
All the amenaties plus the delightful hotess has made the two day stay in Eureka Springs AK absolutly remarkable.

The Piedmont House is more than a Bed and Breakfast… it is a piece of history. It is unbelievable that a wooden boarding house of its age was able to dodge all the large fires that plagued early towns such as Eureka Springs. Although, a traveler from the 1890’s would only vaguely recognize the boarding house today because of the updates and changes over the last 100 years. Extraordinary wrap around porches were added to the structure in the 1970's adding to its present day charm. Additionally, the Piedmont’s most recent owners are continuing to improve the property by converting some of the rooms to large guest suites. The Piedmont House has a small private wedding chapel built on the upper level in the back with fantastic views. It is also now affiliated with the two other properties across the street – the Daffodil Cottage and the Briarwood Lodge – so, there is plenty of staff to answer questions or provide service anytime.

I love staying at the Piedmont… I have stayed there many times over the years. When I stay at the Piedmont, I can actually sense the warmth and appreciation of the travelers that have stayed here over the past 100 years… but it is not only its history that is appealing - its location could not be better. It is an easy walk to down town shopping and there is always parking available in the front or back. (Finding parking can be a frequent problem in Eureka). The majestic Piedmont House cannot be missed as Spring Street winds its way up from historic down town Eureka, causing every passer by to notice its inviting appearance. The front porch is filled with comfortable rocking chairs and is just inches from the edge of the sidewalk. I love talking with fellow travelers on the porch of the Piedmont. It is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Also, the parade of people passing by is an unending attraction… you will find that everyone waves hello, whether they are riding in a horse drawn carriage, a trolley, or a car. Most travelers walking down the sidewalk will stop for a quick chat or to comment on how enjoyable it appears to sit on the porch and how nice the Piedmont looks. It is as if the Piedmont itself bridges a gap between travelers and draws out their conversations and cheerfulness.

I have recommended the Piedmont House many times and not once has anyone been disappointed. If you are looking for a historic place to stay that is full of character and charm, the Piedmont is the place for you. The meals are always great and the service and hospitality are fantastic. Who knows, maybe I’ll see you there on my next trip to Eureka Springs.

Eureka Springs is my favorite place in the world-and is quickly becoming my husband's, also. I have looked at Piedmont house many times, but never stayed, so this time we thought we'd give it a shot. Pat, our Innkeeper, wanted to show us the Daffodil Cottage across the street, and we opted for the Gazebo Suite there. Oh, my goodness-there has never been a more comfy bed made! Joe had no problems falling right off to sleep and getting some much needed rest. The parlor that looks out over Spring Street is amazing-the windows are beautiful. We were wowed by the breakfasts served, as well as the hospitality of Pat and Michelle, who helps in the kitchen. We can't forget Bertie Bertie Bertie, the trained cat! Pat has the greatest sense of humor as well as a knack for telling wonderful stories about the town. Another part of this is that where you have breakfast, and you can also book rooms, is an old church where Pat lives. It's just a beautiful location full of wonderful things to look at, and just right around the corner from downtown. We walked everywhere we went-so it was nice and convenient as you didn't have to pay for your parking. We absolutely loved it, and we will definitely be booking with Pat at either the Piedmont, Daffodil Cottage, or the church sometime in the near future, I hope!
Also, just on a sidenote, don't miss Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. We always go there, and it's the most amazing place-especially at feeding time! Our advice is to call Pat, book online, or hope she's got a room when you get to town-either way-you are in for great hospitality and a wonderful historic place to stay. Have fun!

We stayed for 2 nights in the "Hide away" Suite, which boasts extra privacy. Unless you want to use the toilet....beware the clear glass doors to the bathroom with toilet directly in front of the bed in the room. This was very basement-like to us, has a fabulous deck off the back, large hot tub, very rickety shower, television, nice comfortable large bed. Refrigerator in the room was nice. Breakfast was good (not as good as others), and served with all guests seated at one table. (There are other tables, but our server requested all guests sit together).

My husband and I LOVE to stay at "The Piedmont". It is like stepping back into time. In the past 14 months we have stayed in the "Magnolia Suite", "The Savannah", The Primose Suite", Victorian Suite" and our favorite the "Hide-A-Way". We can't seem to get enough of it. You can sit on one of the porchs with your coffee and see the most awesome views day or night. It has a great feeling when you step inside. The host and hostess are great. The food is wonderful.

Our hearts will always be at "The Piedmont".
