“Wonderful Getaway!”
Reviewed September 30, 2005

My daughter and I stayed in Zelda's Cottage to celebrate our birthdays, and it was one of the best trips we've ever taken. The location is great - you can walk to anything & everything, although tearing ourselves away from Zelda's back porch and private hot tub was challenging. The hospitality was unparalleled, the restaurant recommendations spot-on, and the breakfast nothing short of magnificent. We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I visited the wonderful B&B called CLiff Cottages, in historic downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas, this September, 2005. We have been visiting Eureka Springs for the past 6 years, and decided the spend a night at one of the 125 B&B's in town. We consider ourselves to be B&B "adventurers"- anticipating the unknown is our favorite thing to do whilst on vacation. We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay there. The hosts, Sondra Smith and her husband Arthur were so happy and interesting to talk to. We stayed in their cottage named,"The Sarah Bernhardt Suite". It was decorated in grand victorian fashion with lovely antiques, a sitting room, bedroom, and wonderful bath with over-sized jacuzzi tub big enough for two! Sondra and Arthur, besides their decorating to detail, also pay attention to a traveler's needs in the oh-so minute details, like candy dishes brimming full(wonderful, as I was in desparate need of chocolate!)- to shampoos and personal samplers of lotion and the like. We were treated to a wonderful bottle of Italian Pino Grigio along with delectable home-made cookies. We even took Sondra's great advice on where to eat dinner that night, and she led us to a divine restaurant. Our breakfast the next morning was delivered by a Happy Elf to our door. Breakfast was a wonderful, hot, tasty southwestern dish of eggs, cheese, and salsas(simply divine!). Sondra and Arthur are just great to talk with, and to hear about all their stories and adventures they have been through all over the world. I even bought Sondra's cookbook. The recipes and antecdotes really spoke to me. I have already tried her Scottish scone recipe at home! We can't wait to stay there again the next time we visit Eureka Springs. I might add, too, the location of the cottages is just perfect for parking your car, and strolling through the shops on Spring St. They really know how to do it right.
Thanks, Sondra and Arthur! Diane Doherty, Denver, Colorado

When my wife said we were staying at a Romantic B&B for vacation, I thought OH BOY, no TV for me! Thank God she chose Sandra's B&B! They knew exactly when we wanted some private time and when we needed advice on how to best enjoy all of the activities in the area. Although all her recommendations were on point regarding dinner, nothing compared to the TRUE HOME COOKED "creations" we had for breakfast. We never had time for TV as everything was so accessible it would have been a sin NOT to go take a walk. Then when we finally wanted to unwind it was almost too perfect. We had a deer approach within 10 feet of the private deck. I know she works so hard on her garden and isn't the biggest fan of the deer, but for me that was the exact type of getting back to nature I needed - an outdoor deck with hottub and passing wildlife. Would I go again to a B&B, DEFINATELY! As long as Sandra and Arthur are running it.....

Our stay in Eureka Springs was made perfect by the innkeepers of Cliff Cottage. Not only were the accomadations to die for, with special touches every where you turned. The innkeepers were so knowledgeable about the area and it's history with all sorts of stories you would never hear on a guided tour. The atmosphere and location of the suites were just perfect, there is something for everyone at Cliff Cottage. We stayed in Zelda's studio which backed up to the woods. You can literally sit in the jacuzzi and watch the deer run by! It was just perfect for our long stay!

I highly recommend Cliff Cottage B & B to anyone who wants a romantic, quiet, and elegant.

P.S.
I still can not stop thinking about the gourmet breakfast delivered descretly to your door.

My new bride and I stayed at the Cliff Cottage Inn in Eureka Springs recently and loved it! Our cottage was the Robert Louis Stevenson cottage overlooking the heart of downtown Eureka. The room was nice, clean, and well-decorated, and each day, the "Elves" brought us the best breakfasts we've ever eaten! In fact, breakfast was the best meal each day for us! We also loved the Jacuzzi, and access to downtown Eureka was just a few steps down to the street. Sandra and her husband (the Innkeepers) were very friendly, and conversations with them were very interesting. (Ask them about the time Sandra's chihuahua saved her from the pirates...)

We recommend Cliff Cottage to anyone staying in Eureka. We'll be back!

Sandra and "the Elf" have gone above and beyond to make sure every detail is taken care of. Not only are you in the best location in Eureka Springs to walk to shops and restaurants but everything you want to know or do, Sandra can tell you all about it. The charm of the rooms, the AMAZING in-room breakfasts, the location and the amazing service is the reason we have stayed there 4 times and won't stay anywhere else. Fall in love with this town like we have and you will see why Cliff Cottages is the best place to be.

We stayed at Cliff Cottage for our 24th Wedding Anniversary, and right from the start we were bowled over by the warm reception we received when we arrived and the wonderful decor of the Inn.

The innkeeper took time to get to know us, to find our what we wanted and liked, making reservations for us at the Passion Play, booking us a carriage ride, and setting up a visit from the Inn's own in-house masseuse. We were given accurate and reliable information about the best places to eat, what to see and where to go.

The recommended restaurants were all really excellent, but we found our elf-delivered breakfasts to be the best food in Eureka. We didn't even need lunch afterwards, but we allowed ourselves to be tempted by the great food at places recommended by the inn.

Our suite was most beautifully furnished, with countless touches of detail that left us in no doubt that Sandra is entirely devoted to the comfort of her guests. The delicious home-made cookies were just one of the delights waiting for us. We found that the descriptions on the Cliff Cottage website were not exaggerated, and in fact fell short of the quality of accommodations and service that we experienced there.

Being so conveniently located right downtown and within easy walking distance of so many superb restaurants and stores was great. We so much enjoyed not having to drive for two days or hunt for parking downtown. We only had to walk down a single flight of steps to the main trolley station, and we could ride as long as we liked and see the sights of the town without worrying about traffic. We have stayed at many B&Bs, but this one is the best of all!
