DH and I just returned from spending two nights at Evening Shade B & B. We highly recommend this place. We stayed in the Lauren Suite. It is at the front of the property, and traffic noise was never an issue. I heard one truck.

No matter how much credit I give this place, something will be omitted. It is so very nice.

The room is huge and beautiful. Everything you might possibly want is there: coffee makings (including half and half in the fridge), wonderful gas log fireplace, lighted makeup mirror, microwave popcorn with a huge serving bowl, robes, private deck.

People go on and on about the food and I kinda wondered if they just fixated on food a bit too much, lol. Now, I understand. The breakfasts are really, really good. We had quiche, fruit, sweet bread, something really tasty --sorta like chess pie (?) a carafe of apple juice ...and the coffee we made in the room. The coffee is high quality stuff, btw. DH and I aren't coffee snobs, exactly, but we only drink if if it's good. You choose the time to have breakfast delivered and we chose 9 AM. Both mornings, it was 9 AM on.the.dot. Yesterday's afternoon dessert was some red velvet/cheesecake exquisite thing with cream cheese frosting. I vowed to eat only two bites and MAYBE left that much on my plate.

Last trip to ES, we stayed downtown and it was fun and convenient to go out, walk back to room and repeat. But, we both really enjoyed being out a bit. It was like a retreat. We borrowed two movies from the office plus watched an HBO offering....more movies than we have watched in the last twelve months. We had a great time just plain relaxing.

This was our third b & b stay. Each has had its merits, but Evening Shade was the BEST.
Donna and Clark have thought of every detail.

We had a great experience with Evening Shade! Clark and Donna made the check-in super easy and using our Deal Chicken BOGO was awesome!

Upon entering the room, we had mixed emotions: all the amenities we had hoped for were there. Nice King bed, jacuzzi for two and fireplace. The space, however, was a renovated motel room (which threw me at first). After settling in, though, we forgot all about it! The room was stocked with everything we could possibly need! Lots of attention to detail (bath salts for the jacuzzi, drinks and condiments for coffee, mid-afternoon dessert!)

The only "issue" we had was regulating the room temperature. Between using the jacuzzi and having a fireplace going, the room was overwhelmingly hot! We had to open the door to cool down! We figured it out, though. No complaint on the facility part!

Breakfast was good. First day breakfast was a little heavy on the bread side of things: muffin, breakfast casserole with small amounts of bacon and LOTS of bread. The second day's egg casserole was MUCH tastier and the fruit was awesome.

Lot's of choices of places to stay in Eureka, but we felt like we got the better end of the deal from most other places!

Thanks again, Clark and Donna!

Room Tip: Definitely get the fireplace rooms with jacuzzi!

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. All our suites are different but every one includes a king bed, jacuzzi for two, breakfast in your room and afternoon desserts. The suite you had also had a gas fireplace with thermostat and a ceiling fan. Most people don't realize how much a large jacuzzi full of steaming water will really heat up the room!

Our breakfasts vary from day to day since we know not everyone likes the same things. We try to provide large portions of a variety of things each day so no one will go hungry. We vary our desserts each day for the same reason and do our best to serve things that most people will like.

There are lots of places to stay in Eureka Springs and we really appreciate you choosing us and hope you will stay with us again.

Our stay at Evening Shade was amazing! The hospitality was great, the breakfast and dessert brought to your room was very tasty! The fireplace and jacuzzi in room made our stay very romantic. Most definitely try the couples massage if you get the chance! Two thumbs up!

What a great experience at Evening Shade, from the extremely clean cottage, the great food (breakfast delivered to us each morning and gourmet snack in the afternoon) and the complete package of amenities in the cabin!

It was one of the few "truths in advertizing" that we have experienced in our travels. The setting and quiet atmosphere, even though in town, was truly great. We will be going back

Room Tip: The Evening Shade Honeymoon Suite was a great place to unwind from the year's activities. Hot tub and back porch will be your best friends.

We really enjoyed our stay. The suite was comfortably equipped. The fireplace was gas logs on a thermostat. The food was outstanding. Everything was as advertised. Donna and clark were great hosts. This is a first class place to stay. It is romantic and comfortable. Eureka Springs is a MUST SEE during Christmas since the decorations in the whole town make you feel so much in the Christmas spirit. We thought a lot of businesses would be closed and a few were, but, a lot were open.
