I'm a steak lover and enjoy dining at the best steak houses around the country. It's a passion of mine.
I would put Gaskins Cabin up there with The Palm, Ruth's Chris, Peter Lugar's and Morton's. The beef is superb. I can't personally vouch for the fish, but dining companions have raved about it.
Whether you choose a rib eye, strip or go with the prime rib, you won't be disappointed. Everything is simply fantastic...including the desserts.
What you'll find most surprisingly, if you're used to eating at The Palm or Morton's, is the tab. By big city standards, the prices are absurdly low. (Of course, paying $9 for a baked potato in NYC might seem absurd to many people.)
The service is second to none.
The atmosphere is really cool. The restaurant is located about 3 miles north of town in one of he oldest buildings in the area...an old log cabin that was the residence of one of the first settlers. Gaskins is hands down the most romantic restaurant in town.
It's a classy joint where you can feel comfortable in vacation clothes or a suit.
If I could only eat one meal in Eureka Springs, it would be at Gaskins Cabin!
