We recently stayed at the New Orleans Hotel and Spa. Our 3rd floor room had a nicely appointed and new bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The carpet and linens needed improvement, but were tolerable and it took our window a/c unit awhile to cool off our room the first afternoon. But it was all worth it since the location is FABULOUS!!! We could walk to lots of stores and restaurants. Yes, the Mud St. Cafe is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner! And their specialty coffees are out of this world!
We did the ghost tour at the Basin. Now wishing we hadn't taken our child. We've been home for weeks, and he is still freaked out. But I enjoyed the tour!
The Cosmic Caverns are great! Nice cool activity to do in the heat.
We missed the Passion Play - I thought it was only closed on Wednesdays, but no, it is closed on Sundays too.
Thorncrown chapel was neat. We just barely missed the Sunday service and had to wait til it was over to tour it on the inside.
For kids: there is an arcade that had $5 all you can play price. My son loved it! And he also spent alot of time in the mineral store buying rocks to take home. Don't miss that store. Really neat!More
