Description: Nestled in a cave-like setting between Spring and Center Streets in Eureka Springs, the Squid and Whale Pub has fast become NW Arkansas' favorite place to be. Live music, late night pub-grub, outstanding food and drink. It's Piratical!

Went here on a chilly Friday night - pretty busy, but not packed. We had a sample of their "Pirate Punch" or whatever and got beer instead (OK selection). The staff was friendly, and the prices were fair. The bluegrass band was good, and people seemed to really like the music. The pirate theme was appropriate for the bar built into the rock. The "Texas Sheet Cake" on the dessert menu tasted really good!

I really like this place. The shrimp tacos are great! The booze is affordable. Music is good and for an odd shaped place, the acoustics aren't too bad.. Better sound than Chelsies or Jacks for sure.

If I had to say one negative thing, the men's room stinks and kind of scares me, pee outside it is cleaner.

With Tripadvisor's reviews, we decided to give it a try. We shared the Baja Bucket, with huge shrimp, crab legs, chicken and steak. Food was amazing, not at all what you would expect from a bar. Great service, cold beer, and a local band made for a great night!

If you are looking for a tiny, dive type bar in Eureka Springs, you won't be disappointing. The prices aren't terrible for a tourist type town and it's mostly filled with locals. It has a semi-pirate theme and they didn't try to hide the rocks that were carved out to make the building. Also, the bartenders were super nice!

We get to Eureka Springs a couple of times a year, and we never come to town without stopping by the Squid and Whale. Understand what it is - this isn't a flashy, manicured tourist trap. It's a local bar, and a very good one. You'll encounter some very unique local characters there, and often get a chance to catch up on what’s going on in Eureka from a native’s point of view. We always sit at the bar, where you can visit with one of the owners – a delightful, down-to-earth couple. When night falls, you’ll often have the chance to listen to a band that plays up-close and personal… just how we like it. Live music, cold beverages, and real people. It doesn’t get any better than this.
