We stayed here on 8th september as our first stop on the drive from UK down to Italy. Its very handy being just off the main autoroute after Dijon- and right in the heart of the cote d'or .
It is a lovely old ex-winery with character rooms but the added bonus of a modern swimming pool- which was very welcome after all day in the car.

Our room was at the front on the first floor with very comfortable bed and huge shower room. After a swim and a stroll round the very quiet country roads around the village we had a memorable meal- it was just too cool that evening to eat outside so we ate in the main restaurant - which was full- a good sign given the choice of places to saty and eat around here.

We had a very typical Burgundy meal- the set price 4 course dinner was excellent value and in particular the cheese trolley was awesome! Breakfast was equally good with home baked bread and really fresh croissants.

Staff were friendly and efficient- so all in all an excellent stopover and one we will be happy to go back to.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have the best view- but you can also hear the main road - however traffic on...

We had eaten a beatiful dinner the year before at the Castel but had not stayed there. This time, we chose a slightly upgraded room for our stay and it was very comfortable and roomy, with a very nice bathroom. Dinner, once again, was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for short stays but it is a bit isolated, in a cute village, so unless you have a car (which we did) it might prove a problem.

Room Tip: We upgrated slightly, which I always think is a safe option in almost any hotel...even 5 star ones

We stopped at this hotel on our recent tour of france. We were pleasantly surprised. It is very comfortable, relaxing and clean. rooms very large. the young girl on reception when we arrived last minute offered us a discounted room which was lovelry , she let us see it first, and was very friendly. We ate out at a local restaurant as we wanted to see as much as possible. The following morning the other receptionist tried to charge us full price and was a bit aloof, but we explained how much the room price was she then knocked the discount off. Some of the staff do not speak english, but overall we enjoyed out stay. The pool was very cold and the sunbeds are very low down not good for someone like me after back surgery, but very clean and tidy. Dog friendly

This hotel is beautiful from the outside, nice pool and is wonderfully located for exploring the vineyards. It seems to me well know for its restaurant. That said, the service isn't great and the rooms are very average. It's best to look elsewhere.

The staff were so unfriendly and unhelpful we wondered why we were staying there. The room was large but nothing to write about. The chairs by the pool uncomfortble and my husband went in the pool and it set an alarm off!! Never heard about a pool being alarmed before!! It took them a good 5 mins for them to immerge to turn it off and the noise was horrendous on the ears. We asked for towels by the pool and they were seriously unhappy about bringing them to us. Dinner and breakfast were both served with miserable staff. Smiles did not exist in this hotel.

Room Tip: It is quiet here in the middle of the wine region.

Our initial impressions were not great as when we arrived on a Sunday evening, it transpired the restairant was closed unexpectedly - we were notified the day before by email, but we hadn't got access to email whilst on holiday... There was also a slight mix-up about the room. However, once this was resolved, everything was lovely and service was good. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, very clean and well-appointed. Good shower. Breakfast was good, with fresh breads and pastries, fruit and coffee. Dinner was very good, with delicious beouf bourguignon a highlight.

Room Tip: room 2 is on the first floor and is lovely and light, overlooking the main entrance but nice and qui...

We have stayed in numerous hotels but the stay in Castel de Tres Girard was like a cold shower. Unbelievable how one person can make a stay very unpleasant by not giving the guests the feeling that they are welcome and by acting as if everything is too much. The room was nice, the food too but overall it was overpriced for what you get. We will not return and we advise you not to go!
