The old industrial factory building has turned into an artgallery, cinema and bistro complex. It is quite a pleasant enviroment just a short stroll away from the cute old town. The bistro has good snacks and you can also sit outside to look the small town life go by. Easy feeling.

What is so particular about this restaurant, which has been so much in the papers lately, is always packed and where the overwhelming majority of guests during workdays are from out-of-town? We just had to go and find out and visited it one early Saturday evening. A forehand reservation is a obviously a must and either telephone or email was available. We could see the reservation situation on their internet web site and act accordingly.
We ordered dishes with the nice local names: Siklöja - Pellinge - Choco. This translated into vendace roe moussé on salmon tartar with tomato consommé as an appetizer, fried white fish fillets together with portobello mushrooms and ashes of leek (!) as the main course and finally chocolate fondant with buckthorn berry and lavender ice cream. These were accompanied with wines carefully selected by the establishment.
The food was absolutely gorgeous. Tasty and beautifully laid up. The proposed Riesling white wine matched the food perfectly. Eiswein was selected to accompany the dessert but that proved not to be a good decision. The sweetness of this excellent wine equalled but did not support the sweetness of the delicious dessert. Better to leave it out.
The service was immaculate and exceptionally friendly although the waitors seemed to be very busy.
We sat close to the open kitchen and could see our food being prepared - an interesting experience, see picture.
When we arrived, we had to wait for some time, while nobody bothered about us. We felt lost. Waitors were very busy but surely there would have been a few seconds to wish a guest welcome and say we'll come back to you in a minute.
There was no cloakroom, just an unmonitored rack, close the exit. Individual racks closer to the tables would be much appreciated, where guests could watch their things.
The price matched the taste and the quality of our experience in a very favourable way so expect to see you soon again. A perfect evening!

I think these guys are going for a Michelin. Little pricey food for my taste but you can always order the 15€ burger (as I did :-)). They like to offer the 3-4 ciurse meals but you can also order a la carte. Almst everything is organic and local production. Great decor if you like simplified Skandinavian. Friendly service, even if you order the "cheap" burger.

I'm really happy to live in Porvoo! I have had lunch four times in Bistro Sinne but yesterday was the first time when I enjoyed a dinner there. The restaurant was totally packed and the atmosphere was amazing. Food was excellent as always: first you can just eat with your eyes as the dishes are so beautiful. The plate is full of different tastes and every mouthful is an experience.

Great value! In the table behind we spotted Finland's only 2 Michelin star chef with his family and they seemed content so who am I to complain.

Oh one thing about the dessert - ice cream, macadamia nuts, olive oil and goat cheese. That's so strange. Tasted nice though.
