This is a perfect location for people who don't care for all the amenities of a 5*-etablissement. There's no pool, no gym and you have to collect you own minibar in the department store some 200 mtrs away. What you get? The charme of an old city house in the historic quarter of Porvoo. Nicely restored, very clean and a friendly host. There's plenty of cafes and bars around plus the kind of shops you expect in an old town quarter – galleries, art, goldsmith and so on.

I think the hotel is newly opened. It's a small cosy place with 4 rooms only. Like a family hotel. We loved the interior design and the personnel.
Located near the Porvoo church right in the middle of the old town.
Some small inconveniences: shared toilet and bathroom and no parking possibilities.
Extremely tasty and good breakfast with large variety.
Could accommodate a family of 4 persons, which is hard to find in Porvoo at summer.
Baby crib and potty available.

Room Tip: The room next to the toilet is a little bit more noisy than others.

We have travelled to many countries over the years, but never quite experienced a Bed and Breakfast such as this. First, we should make it clear that our stay was perfectly pleasant and that the buildings and rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, as well as being clean. HOWEVER, there are some serious problems with this place – first, as pointed out by a francophone traveller, the “welcome” to the B&B is done via mobile telephone – we had to call (paying roaming charges) and get the door code. As there is no welcome desk as such, not even any information leaflets, we had to ask where we could park and arrange breakfast timing on the phone as well. Then, once in the (small) room, I immediately hit my head on one of the two roof beams that are at about 1.5m and 1.6m –Despite spending my entire stay bent double (I am 1.82m – tall, but not that tall...), I continued to bang my head from time to time as the first beam was in “my blind spot”. My last “head-banging” session ended with me falling to the floor, mildly concussed. Next problem – the bathroom – there is one (very nice and modern) bathroom for everyone. Whilst we had no problems gaining access to this, travellers should note that up to 8-10 people might be sharing this bathroom at one time. On a more positive note, the breakfast was quite good and certainly reasonable value. Breakfast was organised by a very pleasant young girl – we never did meet the owner, however, you are never actually alone in this B@B as there is a web-cam watching over the shared living-room area in front of the bedrooms...
Finally, having checked this place out on booking.com, and seen the high scores given by travellers on that website, we were slightly surprised by this, especially as there was no text commentary with many of these scores, moreover they were signed “Anonymous”.
