Fabulous food, particularly the indian curries. Paul makes you feel very much at home.

“The very best restaurant between the US border and Tierra del Fuego!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2010

My God! What a relief to find Restaurant Fe! After six months on the road, this really is a stupendous place, and I've eaten here two dozen times. Paul, the owner, is a stickler for food being fresh and of the highest quality. As an experienced chef, he takes care to both prepare and serve every dish to perfection.

The curries are exceptional, the steaks are thick and tender filets cooked perfectly, the breakfast is the absolute best value in San Marcos (try the Full English), and all of the meals are of generous portions ... what more can be said?

No it's not the very cheapest, but neither is it very expensive. If a basic 'pasta' somewhere else in Guatemala is Q30, then why not spend Q55 and have a properly cooked meal with flavour and enjoy it in an exceptionally pretty setting? If food, to you, is just 'fuel' then you might not appreciate Fe.

Hats off to Paul, and congratulations on setting a new standard.

“A home away from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2010

This place is a gem. The food is fantastic I had pesto one night and a curry another and both deserve recognition. Paul the owner is a good one and very nice type of fellow. He is helpful and he is the cook in the restaurant. We were there for a party one night and fantastic music was upstairs via a girl with a guitar and a small 4 member band. There was also a fantastic fire dancer. Dont miss this if you are in san marco

“Top Marks for San Marcos”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2010

Go to San Marcos just to chill out and eat good food at Fe. The restaurant delivers amazing meals in the biggest bowls I've ever seen. We just dined at Fe and couldn't leave... entrees, mains, deserts, a few cuba libres and some stories from Paul. The menu is extensive and obviously all prepared from the freshest ingredients Paul can find locally... but don't hesitate to throw your culinary cravings at him... he'll meet your needs and some! We're going back for sure.. it's just a nice place to hang and eat.

“What a culinary experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2010

After swimming and kayaking all morning, I was starving. I'm so glad our tour guide included this restaurant in our outing. I have to say I have a sensitive palate and all the food served here was definitely made with the freshest ingredients and so flavorful. Their dishes had a somewhat Italian flare which is my favorite and to top it off their Key Lime pie was one of the best I've ever had. I got to meet Paul and his daughter who was just learning the business and they are so personable and friendly. I'm glad this restaurant was included in my adventure.
