Cafe Swotha is tucked away at the end of an alley not from Durbar Square in Patan and worth searching out if you fancy a change from Nepali food.
We had lunch there. A surprisingly excellent spaghetti bolognese - but with walnuts and olives instead of bolognese. Trust me, it was good !
And delicious pitta bread, generously stuffed with chicken and veg and served with salad and fries. Brilliant !
Total cost with a couple of Cokes - about 10 GBP (16 USD)

A more contemporary and modern approach to the usual cafes found in the area. Coffee was served with plunger and they tasted decent. Desserts were jolly good. Pastas were also beyond average. During the four days in Patan we visited this place three times.

Just a few minutes’ walk from Durbar Square, Café Swotha is a great place to share a meal with friends. The service is impeccable, the food superior, and the prices reasonable. Nothing more needs to be said!

In three weeks we have had meals of varying quality. This place is so good we're going again tonight.
