Found about a year ago through extensive review-hunting, this has become close to a regular joint for my husband and I. Unlike many others touting to serve the same kind of food, this eatery is a treasure to find.

The ambiance is peaceful, welcoming and warm while the service has never been less than impeccable. The menu is eclectic and caters to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The burgers here are the juiciest found across the valley, the fish is cooked as it should be, the side vegetables are served al dente, and the sauces are palate-appeasing. The chocolate cake is both a treat and tease for dessert connoisseurs. And to top it all, the prices are absolutely reasonable so that you feel that you are getting a good value for what you are spending.

What it does not have in terms of location (for those who prefer the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu), it makes up amply in all that it offers. And with all that it offers, it makes you want to come dine here again and again. Cafe Cheeno comes absolutely recommended.

georgous hidden oasis with lovely garden or indoor seating with beautiful symbolic art on the ceilings. The facade looks like a bag/craft shop but once inside you discover a lovely cafe alongside fairtrade crafts for sale. Just outside Patan gate and worth seeking out, couple of doors down from Daikaima cafe which is also lovely spot.

It's a great place to get away to with a lovely garden where they grow their own lettuce bordering the flowering plants. Out door tables under garden umbrellas, a cup of freshly brewed coffee, wi-fi. garden-fresh salads, and a whole assortment of pastas, sandwiches and so on. Very reasonable prices and good portion sizes. The Penne Arabiatta could do with less pepper, though. The chicken Caesar salad has very interesting grilled chicken strips. The fish fingers plate is a meal in itself. No, I did not eat all of this myself! Went on two different occasions with friends. There's a wellness centre as well as a counter selling handicrafts made by local women's groups. The staff are attentive and friendly. Highly recommended as an oasis of peace in a congested city. Peace + good food. What more can a person want from a cafe?

You'd never guess that there was such a beautiful garden hidden behind the wall of this restaurant! Just opposite the bus station near Patan Gate. Delightful place, family run, helpful staff, great hygiene, and some really great gifts to take home - you can browse in the cafe without feeling hassled (Dhaka weave scarves, bags etc). Good food - loved the momos. Should advertise the garden more, it's a really good place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle. Didn't try the Wellness centre upstairs (same business), but great idea!

As this little cafe was close to my hotel, I went about three or four times over the course of a few weeks. It has a lovely little garden seating area with lots of greenery where you can have your coffee and read the paper in peace. The inside atmosphere is nice as well, with a relaxed vibe, some tables and sofas, a few shelves of books for sale and a friendly man selling a variety of handicrafts.
I also like the selection of beverages here, from mint tea to fresh juices, to decent coffee. However, i was not that impressed with the food. I had the soup of the day, which was fine but bland, the fried shrimp fusion appetizer, which was tasty but very oily, and the cannelloni which was also not bad but nothing special - needed more tomato sauce. The garlic bread, however, was pretty good.
Prices are good, service was excellent, but overall I think the food could use some pizazz. I will still be trying other dishes though.

As a bonus, there is a wellness center on the third floor where I got an excellent massage for a great price (1400 nprs for an hour). Highly recommended.
