“Cheap but not worth going”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

We had a trip to el pinoy in a group of 10 people. Weather is fine. One important thing want to mention is the shore dive! There is no facilities like pier for shore dive. The staffs said we can only pass through the shore on foot. It was so painful! Finally we gave up otherwise we would have destoryed lots of the coral.

Hate the food..... El pinoy provides Buffett for every meal but quality is pretty bad with very little choices. Moreover, no tuck shop or food market near el pinoy not to mention supermarket.

Many Mosquitos and flies I have seen in the resort. Could not focus on meal because we needed to fight with the insect while we were having our meal.

Rooms are clean but small.

Room Tip: I think in batangas you can get a better and more convenient resort.

Facilities are acceptable but location isn't very convenient.
Most importantly, the attitude of some staffs are very bad. The dive master isn't very professional. Foods are bad. Had a bad mood in 4days trip.

My whole family(11adults and 3 kids) had a great stay here at El Pinoy. The staff are all friendly, they tended to all our needs. They helped us with our bags and heavy dive gears. Chito, the general manager even greeted and chatted with us when we arrived. Our 3 villa rooms are spacious and clean, with tv, each with 2 beds and balcony. The pool is right beside the dining area, good for kids.

The buffet meals were great, specially the fish that they served during dinner. Free flowing tea, coffee and juice all day and all night long. The kayaks are free of use. My nephews enjoyed our kayak rides going to the barge.

Our Dm and other dive staff were great, we enjoyed our dive and had our longest dive yet, 90mins. :) Ive been diving for years now in Anilao, and this is the most corals Ive seen in a house reef. I ended up with a few great macro shots. Be careful though if you're snorkeling, the water is too shallow in front of the resort that the corals and stones can cut you.

At dinner we were the only guests left, so we had the chance to explore their function room. They have a billiard table upstairs and a big comfy tv/lounge area below. We ordered additional drinks and food for the night and the staff stayed with us until we went to our rooms.

The price is reasonable compared to the other high-end resorts in Anilao we've been for the past years. The other resorts didn't deliver as much as El pinoy has.

OVERALL, the place was excellent. The DOwnside of this resort? THE STAIRS! it was not just long, it was too steep! If you forgot something in your car and you have to go up and down the stairs, goodluck. Even going back and forth the beach/pool/dining area and our room was a punish. We were snorkeling and diving at the same time, so our legs were sore the next day and we had to climb the stairs! If you have elderly people, do an ocular first. Or as Chito recommends, they can arrange a speed boat to pick you up near Planet Dive. I dont know if they have a safe parking area there though.

Another concern is the room. The resort was overall quiet and relaxing so we were surprised that we can hear the foot steps upstairs inside our room. It was annoying.

We were told that they are going to improve their dreaded stairs and hopefully the room(noise proofing). We will definitely come back when it's done.

Room Tip: if the resort is crowded and you don't like the stomping sound from the people walking around in...

El Pinoy offered very clean rooms and and bathrooms. We stayed in their deluxe which can easily fit 3-4 guests. The resort offers various kind of water activities but their diving services are very well organized and reasonably priced. Many divers in the area rent equipment from the resort.

We stayed for two nights and had meals and snack included in our room rate. The meals were good but the snacks were mostly carbohydrate (white bread and jams).

We stayed for 1 night and 2 days and most of us squeezed in 5 dives. The resort was helpful that it didn't ask us to check out at noon. We were able to have lunch and had 1 more dive in before we took off around 6pm. The resort is very near the dive sites and that saved us money on the boat ride. Overall, I highly recommend this resort for diving and snorkeling considering its value and convenience.

Caution: the resort has 206 steps to the parking area and it is not near any restaurants or entertainment. This means you stay at the resort the entire time that you are there.

Room Tip: Check with the resort to see if there are a lot of guests in the resort the time that you'll be...
