“Arkansas Trout Fishing”
Reviewed May 11, 2011

The best Arkansas Trout Fishing is at the White River Inn,in fact it has the best in the USA. If you want to have the best fishing experience of your life you need to try Arkansas Trout Fishing as you will not be disappointed. We stayed at the maginificient White River Inn which sits atop a 300 foot bluff above the White river which has spectatctular views of the river below and the Ozark Mountains where you can see for hundreds of miles. The views from the expansive deck where we all sat around was superb. The lodge is unbelievable...a real jewel...first class accomodations....this is not a "fish camp" this is top notch as the rooms were huge with great views. We had a party of three couples and our wives loved the place and the fishing was unbelievable. The guides were spot on....patient with rookies and they made the experience so enjoyable.
Now onto the hosts.....Moose and Tina are now our friends...they are extraordinarily friendly and down to earth and we had more laughs and great stories which were complimented by fantasitic meals which you find at the best resturants.

This is great place for any type of outing even if you don't fish.....I plan on holding some meeting there as it will allow solitude and lends itself to a team building experience.

The brochures are very nice but really don't do the White River Inn justice, you just have to see it to believe it.
Being out in the middle of nowhere was not a problem as we tarveled from Florida to the Springfield Mo airport and arrived at the White River Inn withinn 90 minute and it was a beautiful drive.

The Arkansas Trout Fishing, the White River Inn accomodations, food and Moose and Tina the owners/hosts and now friends exceeded our expectations, we will be back!

I just returned from a 3 night stay at The White River Inn on the White River in Cotter, Arkansas. As an avid fly fisherman that likes luxury when with my fly fishing wife, this location and the fishing cannot be beaten even in better known areas in Montana, Idaho, New Zealand and Patagonia. We fished with Ben Levin, a 28 year old expert guide that put us on more big, strong fighting browns and rainbows than I have ever experienced in any fishery. We landed over 60 fish per day in a pristine setting. We drifted exclusively because of high water. Fish size averaged around 15 inches with several browns over 20 inches. The mix was to my suprise evenly split between browns and rainbows. After over 100 drifts only once did we not hook up and had more doubles than we could count. The fishing pressure was modest both days we fished in a crystal clear river with a very fisherman friendly bottom.
The lodge is brand new and you feel like you are in a movie. Our hosts, Moose and Tina Watson are very skilled innkeepers with a giant dose of warmth and friendliness. This lodge has set an entirely new level of excellence for this amazing fishery. If you are considering a luxury fishing experience anywhere in the world, The White River Inn in Cotter, Arkansas must be considered.

My wife and I spent last weekend here and wow, we were only 42 miles from home. It didn't take but minutes for us to know we chose the right place for a getaway. The facility is fantastic, nature abounds, the White River and fishing superb, the guide was world class, the weather was terrible, and it didn't matter, but best of all we met the host/owners, Tina and Moose whom I hope to call new close friends forever. Check it out if you want adventure, seclusion, even a little romance, this is the place. And the hosts sure can cook to boot. We cannot wait to return in a short two weeks. Heck we may sell out house and just move in. if you can't relax here you may need professional help. Life is not a dress rehearsal, you've earned a stay at the White River Inn. Mosse even gave me a new nickname learning I lived in Florida prior to moving to Arkansas, Gator Greg.

Room Tip: Just call Moose. !!!

Our 3 night, 2 day stay was superior in every way. The lodge, food and hosts are as good as the Watsons can make it. We felt at home from the first and felt like friends when we left.
Tina provided some excellent and creative meals-even Moose has culinary skills. In addition,
we managed to have two memorable days fly fishing the White. After some 40 years of fishing and travelling the country, we agreed that WR INN and hosts are as good as it gets.

Room Tip: All are excellent accomodations with great views

Outstanding facility ! Wonderful hospitality! Great location and view of the White river.
Tina and Moose handled every detail to make our stay one to remember. Great fishing guide arrangements (85+ fish through the boat in three days of March fishing). Meals would compete with a five star restuarant and were served in a relaxing setting and enhanced by great host conversation.

Our family of 12 reserved the whole White River Inn Christmas week, 2010!,. Our family, included me and my husband, our three daughters, sons in laws, and 5 teenagers! Tina and Moose were more than host/hostess to us during this week..they became a part of our family. Our rooms were perfect, and the lodge was spotless! The food was beyond any of our expectations. We were able to book massages for all who wanted one, the men tried their expertise two days fishing with guides on the White River. We played games, shopped in Mountain Home, read and rested. Moose helped us find a church to worship at Christmas Eve. We received so many blessings this week, and all were able to enjoy Christmas in the truest spirit. It was truly a Magical Christmas, never to be forgotten! Thanks to all...Libby Swan, Burleson, Texas

Thanks so much for your kind words. Allowing us to share Christmas with your family was truly a treat. I am still savoring the pear preserves that you left with us. They are the best I have EVER had. We both hope that you will come see us again soon.
