It was our yearly friends get-together and what a place it was. We booked all 6 Rooms available there for 3 days. The location is exceptional.

The property was outstanding. It was a century old British bungalow but u cannot believe that its such a old heritage one. Maintenance & cleanliness was amazing. It was good to see preserve the British age Furniture, Fan, Clock, Typewriter, Wage register of 1942, News papers, magazines , Books, Gramophone etc to name a few.

The main bungalow had 2 bed rooms, living room, reading room, dining, etc. All the rooms were very well furnished & spacious. the 3rd & the 4th room were a couple of minutes walk away from the main bungalow and are the best of all the 3 rooms with a good view of the huge valley & team plantations beneath this property, which is on top of a small hillock. The 5th & 6th rooms were a 5 minute walk away from the main bungalow but a steep climb down and a steep climb up from the room to the main bungalow.

Their service was extremely good. It all started even before check-in, when their Manager was regularly calling us to know our where about, so that we do the miss their signage on the road. Then once we arrived she & her team was waiting bang on the entrance to welcome us with a smile & some refreshing organic ice tea. From there Mr. Murugan took over and was pampering us all 3 days.

The food was awesome. And the quality & the standard was definitely much better than most of the highly acclaimed places. And above all the presentation of the food, the cutlery, fine dining plates were highly fascinating in such a remote place. Their deserts were the best in class. after our desserts on the 1st meal, we asked them to double the desserts portion as it was just too small for the excellent taste :-)

Valparai as such is a non-commercial place & hence no place to go around. It's verfy close to the wild and hence a good bet for a peaceful, non-commercial hill station trip.

Room Tip: The property does not have a swimming pool & a fitness centre I recommend rooms 5 & 6 if...

We booked all 6 Rooms available there for 3 days. Been to few other plantation bungalows, but Sinnadorai was some thing exception. The location is good. The bungalow was outstanding. It was a century old British bungalow but u cannot believe that due to their maintenance. They still preserve all the Furniture, Fan, Clock, Typewriter, Wage register of 1942, News magazines of those period, Books, Gramophone etc to name a few. All the rooms were very well furnished & spacious. Only the architecture was colonial, but every other things were modern.

Their service was extremely good. It all started even before check-in, when their Manager Sujatha, was regularly calling us to know our where about, so that we do the miss their signage on the road. Then once we arrived she & her team was waiting bang on the entrance to welcome us with a smile & some refreshing organic ice tea. Then her team took over the responsibility of hosting us for next 3 days. We were very much impressed by their service.

The food was awesome. And the quality & the standard was definitely much better than most of the highly acclaimed places. And above all the presentation of the food, the cutlery, fine dining plates were highly fascinating in such a remote place. Their deserts were always in demand.

Went out both during the day & night, and saw the Great Indian Horn bill, Grey Horn bill, Lion Tailed Macaque, Indian Gaur, Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Black Eagle, Serpent Eagle, and few other common birds.

When u go to Valparai, Sinnadorai Bungalow of Parry Agro is the best out there.

I am yet to visit Munnar, but I am not sure I want to after my vacation to Sinnadoari Tea Estate. Set up on hill top overlooking 600 or so Acres of tea estates, this is almost a perfect getaway.

There are 6 spacious and clean rooms, with large bath rooms. Service is excellent, staff members are well trained locals. Food served is excellent. You can go around few places & encounter wild life.

Dance away to gramophone that plays some old songs.

Balaji temple is 8-10 KM away but takes a while to get there due to narrow roads.

Best part is getting there - with 40 odd hairpin bends and view of Aliyar dam while u traverse those bends excites you as much as the lush green tea plantation.

A must visit place for couples. For folks with kids it might get little tiring to manage kids as there is not much to do.

Though tad expensive at 6.5 K per room / night with no other facilities apart from room & food, over all experience will leave you almost satisfied. I hope you know what I mean.

Go experience the royal treatment !!

The drive , the tea estates, the forest cover, the freshness and serenity all make valparai a great destination to relax and unwind.

Having left India in my early 20s , I now try and make up for the lost opportunities. For our 2012 trip Valparai was a no brainer.Started researching couple of months back on places to stay. Stumbled upon Chinna dorai and glad I did. Spoke to Ms.Sujatha to make a booking. Ended the call on a slighlty miffed note. She assured 'i have got you in the diary'. No talk of paying upfront!!! Pleasantly surprised although slightly miffed if the booking would be kept.

Had the pleasure of staying at sinna dorai for two days/nights in August. Thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality. Cannot praise the entire team enough. Stayed at the Sullivan's suite and it was spotless. Well impressed by the tasteful decor and the careful choice of fixtures and fittings. It has been done with an eye for detail. Everything from the welcome drink on arrival , quality of accomodation, choice of food, the ambience of the resort, personal service by the staff left us well impressed. A job well done. Sujatha & Rajiv along with their team comprising Murugan, the chef and support staff deserve lot of praise.

Me and my wife started our journey from Cochin at around 2.00pm to Valparai, I didn't much knowledge about the forest reserve beyond VAZACHAL waterfalls, it was dense, when i say DENSE, it actually was dense, very occasional vehicles passing by, the only companion we had were the regular elephant dung on roads. we reach VALPARAI and drive through acres of tea estates to reach SINNA DORAI's bungalow. we are welcomed by smiling faces and 2 bison horns at the entrance. This bungalow built in 1920s is phenomenal. I walk inside to a lobby that has a fireplace, on my right is the drawing room, that houses a fireplace too. an old Gramaphone thats playing carnatic music. 2-3 book that were published in 1930s, I saw WOW and walk across to the library through the corridor, I find more books, all dairies of 1920s and 30s, written by the British Who had started off the TEA JOURNEY in INDIA from Valparai. I spend the night in the SULLIVAN suite and get up in the morning, (sadly i couldnt go to the night wildlife safari, as there was news of Elephant sightings on the road) I wake up for the most splendid TEA ESTATE i have sen till date, be it, Ooty, Munnar or Vagamon, VALPARAI tops my list. SINNA DORAI is the icing on the cake as this bungalow stands as the tallest in Valparai. we went for a walk through the tea estate, i was surprised to see who were waiting for us there on top of the hill, BISON, a 30 odd group. all sizes-small, tiny, big, huge. we were dumb stuck, thats when our Guide, MURUGAN told me that we are in the midst of a 450 acre organic tea estate and thats the reason the bison come here to feast on good grass.
SINNADORAI is a must visit place, and as the website says, Don't go there with a plan in mind, Just go there and leave it to your senses to enjoy and explore.
A tip for Travellers travelling from Kerala, when you are heading back from valparai, go via Aliyar Dam. 40 hair pin curves, monkeys, that too lino tailed ones, you will never regret the extra mile u drive.
