It was raining buckets and the wind had that chill factor that meant you looked around for snow. Not an ideal time for lunch but this worked. We had the sweet potato & chickpea burger + the Loddon Burger, a merlot (lots of plum & chocolate tang) and really hot coffee. It all hit the spot and we rambled our conversations to enjoy the open fires and the authentic feel of this wooden, heritage building. A bit special!

We had breakfast her based on other great trip advisor recommendations. It was okay, but nothing special. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit.

Glenlyon General Store shares its 'country hospitality' whenever I drop by. Delicious food and warm smiles are the norm here. Whether you are out for a drive or a local, this is lovely place to pass the time with friends and family. Fascinating area... well worth exploring.

Travel through some of central Victoria's beautiful country side and you will come across the tiny town of Glenlyon. There is only one shop in the area and it is the Glenlyon General Store. Quaint and cozy they serve a good breakfast and lunch menu. The "famous" Loddon hamburger is just like a regular home-made burger and the ploughman's plate was a nice assortment for lunch. Unfortunately we missed out on and blackboard menu of which this store is famous for as I was really looking forward to the dumplings in broth... Maybe next time as I'd be happy to return my next time through.

I am a local so always buzzing in and out for milk etc or a great take-away coffee. Fantastic lunchs too and often home made muffins to tempt on the counter. Excellent range of old fashion lollies are a treat too.
