“excellent museum and it is free to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

This beautiful museum is worth a visit if you are ever in this area. The buildings alone are an attraction as is the park like surroundings. The Walton family has put alot of money and effort into the making of this museum of American Art. It has some very excellent early American paintings. It is a new and clean and very inviting museum. Admission is free and so is the parking. I wish I had more time to spend at the museum on on its walking trails. If I am ever in this part of the country again, I would certainly visit it once more. Definitely worth a trip from anywhere in this areal.

“ALWAYS GOOD TO WALK AND ENJOY”

Very open and easy to get around. There are lots of hills but most trails are wide enough to accommodate wheel chairs. The restaurant is good and nice selection.

“Plan to stay a while”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Husband & I visited for the first time today, and while we only expected to stay a few hours, we ended up being there the entire day. Beautiful campus, and AWESOME exhibits.
Oh, yes, one big rule at the museum is that you are not allowed to wear any bags on your back in the galleries! We didn't know this until we arrived, so our camera bag was awkwardly draped over our fronts most of the trip.

“Fantastic building and grounds with a promising collection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

The Crystal Bridges Museum is undboubtedly a work of art unto itself. The layout of the buildings and the surounding wooded area is wonderful. The museum was easy to navigate, and the parking was fine when we visited. If you drive around to the second lot, you'll discover there is an area underneath with covered parking. The museum is free, which is terrific. However, the special exhibition may cost money, which was the Norman Rockwell for $12 when we visited. The collection is very good, at least as good as can be expected for what came together within such a short period of time. There aren't as many masterpieces as what you would find at an older museum like the Whitney or the Kimbell, but what they have is certainly worth checking out. The museum was a little lean on contemporary art when we were there, and even then, most of those artists are not living. Thus, the collection doesn't take many chances and leans towards what has been deemed as important. If you'd like to see more of what is on the cutting edge, check out the local 21c Museum Hotel, just a block off the square in Bentonville. It is open 24 hours and the exhibition space is also totally free to the public. It is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Crystal Bridges.
