“A Great Experience”

The museum was fantastic. So many wonderful artists -- many quite famous. The admittance was free! Mrs. Walton must have had very eclectic taste, too, that there was something for everyone. An added bonus was that we were allowed to take non-flash photographs. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful art museum.

“Very impressive.”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

I know many people will not believe that rural(ish) Arkansas has a museum of this caliber. We have been twice this year and it has been great both times. The variety of American art is so much fun, famous pieces and familiar names are in every gallery. We had lunch in the restaurant and that was good too. It's an hour and a half from Fort Smith, but well worth the drive.

“Amazing combination of art, nature, and architecture”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Don't miss visiting this museum. There is something for everyone. And it's insanely FREE. Even if you're not into looking at a bunch a pictures of soldiers and mountains, there will be something for you too. The exhibit is diverse and refreshing. There is a primary exhibit which my husband and I found both lovely and amusing. And new exhibits are always a good reason to revisit. The botanical gardens and trails surrounding the museum are just wonderful, very thoughtfully designed, repeating the synchronicity of art, nature and architecture. You'll find sculptures nestled in nooks and crannies around every corner. And the architecture of the museum itself is almost religious. Designed by Moshe Safdie, from the outside it reminded me of a space ship which settled in a little valley, then once we went inside we just had to sit down for a minute to take it all in.

“Best museum ever and at no cost. How much better can it be?”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

I recently went to Bentonville, AR for a weekend trip. While there, I visited the Crystal Bridges Museum. Wow! Was I pleased! The museum was laid out so well and every space in the place had something fantastic to see. It is built so that at every vantage point you can enjoy nature. It of course contains some of the most beautiful famous art ever, compliments of Ms. Alice Walton. I thought it would take forever to go through the museum and to see everything but it was arranged so well that we were able to see it all and also the outdoor art, including comfortable walkways and statues all in a time period between 1:00 and 5:00.
The gift shop was also very nice and the smell of coffee in the restaurant was wonderful. We did not eat there but it was laid out so that you could eat and look out on the small lake and enjoy nature. Can you imagine having all of that to enjoy and at NO cost at all? I am looking forward to going back again the next time I am in Bentonville just to see it again. They also have a wonderful website. Don't miss it!!
