Attraction details
Owner description: In 1875, Colonel Samuel West Peel built a marvelous villa tower Italiante mansion on the outskirts of Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a working farmstead surrounded by 180 acres of apple trees. The Peel Mansion is an outdoor museum of heritage roses, perennials, and native plants. Various vignette gardens are interlaced among curvilinear walks and large shade trees creating a most appropriate setting for this great historic building of Northwest Arkansas. Also on the site is the pre-Civil War Andy Lynch log cabin which serves as a gatehouse and Museum Store at the entrance to the grounds. *Tours are available every hour on the hour.* The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens offers a variety of event options - wedding ceremony and reception, rehearsal dinners, group luncheons and tours, as well as civic or corporate events. We have the perfect venue for your special event!

“A wonderful experience”

Twin and I took a restful few days to northern Arkansas and stayed in Bentonville. We toured Crystal Bridges and downtown. Ate outside downtown. Great food and great service.Highlight of second day was the tour of Peel mansion and grounds. Our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. She was a delight. As we were the only 2 for the last tour of the day, we got our own private tour. The grounds were beautiful. Would recommend this on our visit to Bentonville.

“visit spring to fall”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

we enjoyed the visit, but the gardens where pretty bare when we went, and they do not allow photos, at all. A lot of the stuff in there is not original to the Waltons, and yet no photos. But the things there are period for the house.

“Worth $5”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

We've been to a number of old mansions in the south and this one was smaller and far less grand than others; however, we always hear something we didn't know before and our guide was exceptionally nice and friendly.

We love touring old houses and this one is just beautiful. The grounds are lovely as well. My kids enjoyed walking through the gardens.
