“A fun look into the past”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013

We pulled into the historic square in Bentonville and it was so quaint. We got to enjoy it while waiting for the Visitor Center to open.

You enter through the gift shop then into the museum. The museum is interactive and the kids really loved that. It was interesting to see the progression and it was an fun to see some things we remember from years ago.

You exit through the soda shop which the kids also loved.

It was a fun time. The museum is small and doesn't take long to go through - it is also free. It was better than what we expected but it was still everything Walmart - as it should be I guess. I gave it a "Very Good" instead of an "Average" because it was really well done however it is a "once you see it you have seen it" place and I don't know that we would go for a second visit.

“Sam Walton-- What a Guy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

Sam had a list of rules he made on how to run a business. A free brochure, printed in I don't know how many languages, is available and I sent one to a son who has a business. I loved the loyalty that his employees had for him. I guess the company go too big over time and his imprint must have been less as the years rolled on. The history inside the museum tells alot about who he was and of his core values. Feel we need more young people to know about him.

“The Store Sam Built.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2013

No matter what your opinion is of Walmart you will leave thinking about all that Sam built. Great stories and quotes about the start and growth of the chain. What a great American story. Oh and go get a ice cream cone at the end, yummm (Yarnell's Ice Cream). You if you are with kids you are going to drop a couple of bucks at the 5-10 storefront on vintage candy and toys with the kids too. (you have been warned).

“A cool experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

You wouldn't think the Walmart story would be so interesting. The Waltons have made a great impact and continue to do so. Well worth the time to visit the original store and see the items on sale at close to the original prices. Very cool.

“Nice old town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

This town was very beautiful, it had a nice old feel to it. The ice cream shop next to the visitor center was fun for the kids, almost like stepping back in time.
