I had two meals at this wonderful restaurant with my boss while on business in the Bentonville area. The meal and service were so good on our first visit that we came back again on our second night in the area. The restaurant itself is quaint, comfortable and clean -- nice atmosphere and sound level where a good conversation can be had. On both nights we were promptly seated and warmly welcomed. On the first night our server recommended a really good Cabernet Sauvignon by Joel Gott, which is served by the glass and by the bottle. She guided us through their very nice menu that has a good selection of appetizers, salads and entrees to suit many tastes. On the first dinner we each had a different dish that involved delicious lamb chops. Both of our dinners were excellent and generously portioned. I had the very good Ceasar salad and he had pear & seared tuna salad and reported that it was great. On the second night we each had the tuna tartar appetizer -- it was very good. For main courses, I had the short ribs and he had the sword fish. Again, two winning main courses that were generous, creative and very well prepared. The starch and vegetable that accompanied the protein of the main course were very creative and perfectly prepared. One night I had a very good rice pilaf along with ratatouille to accompany my lamb, and on the second night my short ribs (with a great sauce) were accompanied by Israeli couscous and grilled vegetables. We had the Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon again because it was so good the first night -- it was a great recommendation. We both had dessert: I had the excellent creme brulee and he had the Napoleon with fresh fruit. Both deserts were excellent and we rolled out of the restaurant very full and satisfied. My only complaint was that the coffee was just ok and was only warm, but this is my only very minor complaint. The staff at this restaurant really compliment the very good food; they are friendly, welcoming and well versed in the menu. On both nights we were walked through the dishes and given very good recommendations. The service of the meal was great. The chef definitely knows what he is doing as we had four very good meals over two nights! The prices are reasonable for the high quality of the food and for the size of the portions. We are going to make this a regular part of our visits to Bentonville. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in town for business or live in the area. I just wish I lived closer so that I could bring my wife for a nice and romantic dinner. Well done Petit Bistro!
