The building is really old, you can even smell it! Cockroaches were all over the place, found at least 6 roaches during our first day. Then, They moved us to another room, and still there were roaches the next day. We called housekeeping to clean it up, and the lady who came, picked the roaches with white hand towels that usually guests are given. (She took it from her dirty laundry she picked from the room next door. I was expecting her to come with a vacuum cleaner, and some spray etc! It was a bit nasty...that she was using the same towel they offer guests after it was being laundered..it may be sanitized after all, but its disgusting to think about! The owner, who usually is around, is also mean and unfriendly...you don't get good service talking to this greedy lady, when u request for something, e.g. extension of stay for an hour or two/ AC complain etc...

Room Tip: check the room first...its either smelly or dirty with roaches...

Best nights sleep Ive ever had in a hotel, great staff, rates, and CLEAN rooms- staff went above and beyond to make ours stay a memorable one. Close to downtown, the riverfront and almost all the attractions- excellent dining within walking distance, and the town itself is worth seeing.

Room Tip: Get the kitchenette! Perfect for those late night snack fests.

I stayed here for one night, in the blistering 115 degree heat of summertime Yuma, but wished I could have stayed longer at this hotel! The feel of the hotel is a neat mix of independent, small town, historic "motor hotel," and amenities of a Best Western chain. The room was the same -- large, clean, with nice furnishings, but that small indy-hotel feel -- with two towels folded into swans and making a "heart" on the bed. Nice touch. The complimentary breakfast -- right next door at the Yuma Landing Restaurant (so named because it is on the site of the first landing by an airplane -- a Wright brothers early model -- in the state of Arizona) -- was very good and made to order. If you want clean, large rooms, a comfy bed, a flat screen tv, microwave and fridge, AND a home-town feel with friendly staff, I highly recommend this hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

I occasionally stay in Yuma as a base for excellent dental care in Los Algodones, Mexico, just across the border 8 miles away. I've stayed in my RV and other motels but always wondered about this beautifully maintained vintage property. Starting with the oldest Best Western in the world (1946?) the owners have carefully added more rooms by taking over and remodeling adjacent, newer properties. The result is a complex of four motels that function and look like one old-school mission style property. This results in more room types and facilities than first meet the eye. Historic and larger 1960s rooms are arranged around four courtyard/parking areas on two sides of one of the main roads into town. Two pools and a free-standing, well-equipped exercise room are as immaculate as the rest of the property. An OK free breakfast is offered in the adjacent restaurant. You can add to the basic offerings a la carte. Because I checked in mumbling though a mouth full of dental cotton, the friendly lady at the desk said I looked like I could use a spa room and upgraded the online reservation I'd made. She was right, a good soak in the strong jetted tub quickly soothed away an afternoon in the dentist's chair. The other three staff members I encountered were equally friendly. The free wi-fi is strong, the room clean and comfortable, the bathroom large and well-equipped (big rain showerhead with good pressure!). Though I was attracted by its visual charm, this property also delivered in all other ways. The location offers easy access to the interstate and tourist sites. Within walking distance is Yuma's old downtown district which offers a new multi-screen cinema and a wide variety of restaurants (including a fantastic German place that's only open during snow-bird season). Across the street are a good family-run Mexican restaurant, a Jack-in-the-Box and a grocery store. Finally, anyone know of a motel that has its own MUSEUM? An interesting collection of memorabilia relating to the history of this great property is housed in the original office (check at the desk to be let in). Whenever I am in Yuma w/out my RV, this is definitely where I'll stay.

I spend 2-3 nights in hotels every week and by far this has been my favorite. Large clean rooms with a made to order breaksfast every morning in the restaraunt next door. No more toasting your own bread and serving your self dry eggs. They were also vaery accomidating on a package I had to have sent next day air for a customer. They called as soon as the truck pulled up! Over all excellent experience!

Walked into lobby @ 3:10 pm Desk clerk was helpful with key to restroom in pool area. Pool water looked cloudy. The room was updated with TV & fridge & clean. The bath was fine. Downtown is just minutes away. Breakfast @ The Landing also was fine. I really enjoyed the museum. Thank You.
