“The accommodations were less than pleasurable.”
Reviewed April 5, 2011

I am from Indiana, and I have been to Yuma every year for the past 10 years, and this hotel is by far one of the worst locations on 4th avenue. Do not walk outside after dark alone, even it is just to grab a snack at jack-in-the box. This area is creeping with homeless individuals.

The rooms were in dire need of renovation. The walls in my hotel room had an excessive amount of paint chipping off of them. The bed was made up with a long strand of two quilt pieces that had been cut in half and resewn into small sections for decoration. There is really no other way to explain it. It was VERY tacky.

The first night we arrived, our telivision set did not even work. Luckily, the young man working the evening shift was kind enough to aid us in fixing the t.v. Unfortunately, he was not able to fix it, and he had to send engineering the next morning.

I was so excited to get up and head to the pool area the next morning and use the hot tub. The internet website advertises a hot tub and a pool. It was very unsettling to see an ABOVE GROUND PLASTIC HOT TUB at a hotel when I arrived at the pool area. It was dirty and the water was cold. The pool was very dirty as well. It did not look like it had been cleaned my entire stay. We stayed four nights.

I will certainly NEVER stay here again.

Thank you for your comments. Sometimes the weather and wind are out of our control. We have had a very windy year. We don't have all the grass and trees as Indiana, so when the wind blows here, you get a lot of sand and dirt.

Room 116 is super small - good thing am not claustrophobic. Room was very clean but grounds adjacent to room were in dire need of garbage removal. Wouldn't want to stay in this room if weather turned nasty - big gaps around door frame.
Positive: Location - so convenient for traveling to Algodones or shopping/sightseeing. The Yuma Landing restaurant has great food, reasonable prices and great staff.

Thanks for your comments. 116 is a historic room, normally it is picked by honeymooner, who like a small cozy jacuzzi tub room. We offer over 10 room types, for our customers pleasure.

This is a charming, classic hotel where your room door exits straight to the parking lot. Service was great. Pet friendly with a park across the street. Two swimming pools and tons of sun in a town without any shade and lots of heat. I'd definitely stay here again.

Wonderful old motor lodge with modern amenities including 50" flat screen. The heated pool was actually warm enough for swimming and was relaxing after a long day of work. They have over 500 movies that can be checked out for free and played on the in room DVD player. The suite I stayed in had two queen beds in separate rooms which would be excellent for families.

My husband and I were going to CA for Christmas with our family. We are a Best Western Member and have stayed in many Best Westerns in the past years. This is the one that we stay at coming and going to CA. It is a older Motel but it has a lot of history and the rooms are decorated nicely.

This time we were able to up grade to a Suite , this was possible because of our membership as a Best Western Platinum member, It had 2 rooms 2 king size beds 2 large TV. one in each room.
One the Bed made of towels was a Heart made of to Swans.
The Bed was comfortable and has enough pillows to stack and watch TV.

I recommend that you check this Older but more nice done when you stop in Yuma for a rest and take time to enjoy the things that the town offers.

The Staff is always glad to see us and make sure everything is in order when we arrive and invite back when we leave.

Thank you to all the Staff.

As a frequent traveler for business, I rate this super. Granted it is not a resort---but a hotel oriented for families and business travelers. The rooms are clean and spacious with microwave and refrigerator, and beds are cozy, This site also has a restaurant with a history of the area theme that meets those later night needs although it also is used for complimentary breakfast in the AM and who doesn't appreciate being waited on and having an immediate fresh hot breakfast put in front of you. I shall definitely stay here again whether for work or on a vacation excursion

This hotel is one of the oldest Best Westerns in the US. Our room was HUGE (it even included a small kitchen) and very comfortable. The bathroom had recently been redone and was spotlessly clean. The complimentary breakfast left a little to be desired, but at the price we paid for the room...no complaints. A very friendly staff welcomed us after a very long day on the road. I would definitely stay here again. A truly historic motor inn that has been meticulously cared for.
