“Jewel in the Desert”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

We stopped here based not only on the positive Tripadvisor reviews, but also because of the extensive vegetarian menu offerings (we are a mixed party of omnivores & herbivores). Not only did River City Grill not disappoint, they wowed us with the gourmet presentation and complex flavors. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We will definitely be back - maybe tomorrow!

“good but not #1”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

We enjoyed our meals, they were timely and the service was good.
The decor was fine and we had cloth napkins.
While we did enjoy our meals, they were not outstanding and a bit overpriced for what you got. I feel they could have served those meals for at least $3.00 less to bring them in line with other similar restaurants.

“Finally, a place worth talking about in yuma.”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

I travel to yuma on business about once a month and I had yet to find a place that wasn't Mexican or chain. Dining single I sat at the bar with a first hand view of kitchen and staff. I had the recommended scallops ravioli in curry sauce, quite good. A little strong on the curry, but liked the seafood and ravioli. Not the greatest meal in my life, but for yuma, I'll take it. Service was scattered, but it was quite busy for a Wednesday night.

“hooray for fine dining in Yuma”
Reviewed March 3, 2012

After several days of traveling, it was such a delight to eat good vegetarian food. Franchise and small town chinese had provided basic sustenance, but not much more. The River City Grill, with terrific outdoor seating, including propane heaters as the evening turned cool, many vegetarian choices, prompt service and very tasty food for a reasonable price made us smile and sigh. And we were able to walk just around the corner from the Best Western Coronado. Not just vegetarian on the menu, many other options as well. We had an Indian Curry and a fettucini alfredo. Very nice presentation and included a chose of salads or soup, which were also delicious and pretty.

“An Off Night for Service”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

We had enjoyed the River City Grill during our last visit to Yuma and decided to go there again. The food was great but someone must have called in sick since the bartender was doing double duty as a server. He gave it a good effort but was in over his head. There were several lapses of timing and table-side manner, but we were both good sports about it. On the other hand, the food was great due to a solid performance in the kitchen. My wife had the scallops and prawns, which were very good – although these are really just large shrimp. I had the New York strip which was also very good. Unfortunately, the pepper soup was cold by the time it arrived – a shame since this is a signature dish. My wife enjoyed her salad. This was a Sunday night on a holiday weekend so that might explain the missing wait staff, but we still enjoyed our experience.
